Monk Rooms — Hotel in Municipality of Chania

Cretan hospitality at its best; Aggeliki was an awesome host, gave us amazing recommendations for restaurants and tours. We really enjoyed staying at Monk Rooms in Chania in the old port or limani as they call it. The location is ideal as it's walking distance to some of the best traditional restaurants and local cafes; The beds were extremely comfortable, towels offered were soft and fluffy...it was a 5 start experience indeed. Chania is a beautiful city and the tours we took suggested by Aggeliki to a local winery, Samaria Gorge and Balos were just breath taking and made us fall in love with the island. We have toured europe and other Greek islands; we are definitely coming back to...

The Monk Room was everything I hoped for and more. Tucked away in the beautiful pedestrian area of Chania, the location couldn’t have been better — steps from incredible restaurants, charming cafés, and lively bars, yet amazingly quiet at night.

The room itself was spotless, comfortable, and full of charm — the perfect blend of authentic Cretan atmosphere and modern comfort. And the host? So kind and accommodating, making check-in and communication smooth and stress-free.

Overpriced for such basic accommodation where you won’t get much sleep.

Location is nice but the place isn’t soundproofed. There is loud music until 3am each evening.

Shower is extremely tight. You will get a towel/sheet changed once every few days.

Very steep stairs; you will need to carry your luggage.

Mattresses are poor quality and there is so much dust everywhere. The old wooden wardrobes have handles falling off when you try to open them.

Extremely unreasonable pricing for what you get.
