My recent stay at Hotel Rokin in Amsterdam Centrum was far from pleasant. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a disappointing sight. The hotel room was dirty, with hair scattered on the sink, in the shower, and even on the bed. Although the beds were neatly folded, a closer inspection revealed multiple stains on the sheets, right where guests sleep.
I promptly informed the staff about these issues, expecting a swift resolution. They assured me that they would address the problems, including changing the bed sheets and removing the hair. However, they claimed that cleaning the entire room was not possible.
Upon returning to the room, some of the hair had been removed, but others remained, notably in the shower. Most alarmingly, the bed sheets had not been changed, as the same stains persisted. I confronted the staff, who attempted to convince me that they had indeed replaced the sheets. However, the identical stains on the new bed sheets indicated otherwise.
To add to my frustration, when I requested a refund, given the unclean conditions and the substantial price of 140 euros per night, I was met with an unreasonable demand. They insisted that I had to fold the bed sheets myself to be eligible for a refund, an utterly absurd requirement.
Overall, my experience at Hotel Rokin was marred by poor cleanliness standards, dishonesty from the staff, and an uncooperative attitude when seeking a refund. I would caution future travelers to carefully consider their options before booking this...
Read moreThe quality of the room is quite poor for the price we paid. The hotel is a fusion of two houses where renovation was done as quick and as cheaper as they could. Very poor quality of the bed, mattress, bathroom, very dark room and lack of light and electricity plug are very difficult to reach. The television was very small, glasses are made of plastic, soaps are not in bottle but disposable, definitively, it is the minimum of service. We book a place for the parking and they told us ok, then the day before that they couldn't keep a place for us. They tried to charged us 50euro for one day of parking instead of 36 then accused us for being liars which is unacceptable, I have never been treated like this in a hotel and I traveled a lot. In the end we paid 43 euro for 24hours instead of 36euro as mentionned (for the next client, you pay around 36euro from 11am to 11am, but if you arrive at ). Hopeful, the guy apologized for his mistaken and lack of communication... The only good point is the location. The breakfast is average, nothing more nothing less. I definitively won't recommend that hotel. I hesitate between one and two stars. 300euro for a night + parking for 3 persons is far too expensive for the...
Read moreMy partner and I recently stayed at Hotel Rokin for 3 nights. We choose this hotel mainly due to its central location. On arrival we had the option of double bed rooms or twin bed rooms as well as front or back of the property. We had a lovely room which we were told was small (as we had chosen the rear of the property) however we thought it felt spacious due to the high ceiling. The bathroom had a slight drainage smell to it, but it was immaculately clean and in good condition. We only had a shower but this was fine and it had good water pressure. The room was very cosy and warm and fortunately very quiet. The bed was extreamly comfortable. We had 2 single duvets (instead of a double) which some might find odd but I quite liked. Within the room there was 2 hooks by the door for coats, a small wardrobe, desk with chair, cupboard with safe, bedside tables with lamps and a TV. Breakfast was included in our stay and the breakfast room was in the lower ground/ basement. There was the usual continent buffet, pancakes, bacon, eggs etc. The food was good and everything was clean. There was a small vending machine in the foyer/porch too. This is a very good Hotel, great location, clean and we will be...
