This place is nice, affordable, clean, and overall a good place to stay. The staff is very kind and attentive for all your needs and the breakfast is fresh and made to order and included in your stay. The rooms are clean, and very much in the fashion and theme of this historic district; Like a time capsule, you will very much immerse yourself into the history of this city along with some convinces of the future like a TV, phone, heater, and lights. This is a spot where you go if you’re looking to enjoy the setting of the historic city while paying good prices and enjoying excellent service. The hotel is also on a street with many small quaint shops and top tier food spots, and an hour hike or less away from a major historic ruin site to the north. High quality options for food and drinks are just a walk away. The hotel is up on a hill, but after a day of exploring you can just take a taxi back. The location here is key as it makes for a quite night of sleep as well, if you stay closer to the plaza like the rest of our party did, you will have to endure the sounds of the high energy plaza and surrounding areas, another reason to consider...
Read moreWe booked three nights here but left after one. The room was not clean — the bed linens seemed fresh, but the floors felt dirty and the discolored shag rugs beside the bed looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in years. The shower head was especially concerning: it was covered in thick, crusty buildup that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in decades.
At check-in, we were told hot water would take about 20 minutes because other guests had recently showered. We waited 45 minutes and still had no hot water, so we ended up with cold showers.
On top of that, the hotel was very loud. Noise (possibly TVs) echoed throughout the building all night, making it extremely hard to sleep. Breakfast the next morning was fine, but nothing special.
When we decided to check out early due to these issues, the front desk staff member was polite and seemed to understand, but the hotel refused to refund the remaining two nights.
Overall, between the lack of cleanliness, no hot water, loud environment, and poor customer service, we cannot...
Read moreThis Hotel was very lovely. I stayed there in Oct 2020. I was the first guest to stay there after they reopened from the pandemic. I was also their only guest during my stay. The place is outdated but adds to the charm of the hotel and city. Doors are flimsy and the windows and curtains are poorly made. So don’t expect to have blacked out curtains and you can hear everything in the hallways and you can hear everything outside.
The hotel is located on a steep hill. Climbing is a struggle for even the healthy. Not recommended for anyone with even minor health issues. If you’re obese, you will suffer. Yes, hotel had a young girl die there and she was obese. No, there are no ghost.
Staff was super friendly, Dalma made several great recommendations and was very helpful. As my gratitude, I invited her to dinner to the Palacio Nazarenas, she had never been there. (She is the pictures)
I will definitely stay there again, just not with my husband. Lol for him I have to stay at the Palacio Nazarenas. He hates hiking...
