Hotel Midori — Hotel in Distrito de Cusco

I loved this property! It is located in the historic center and within walking distance of everything that I wanted or needed. And the closes restaurant (Organika) is just steps away and delicious. The decor is very welcoming. The only reason I reduced from 5 to 4 is that the internet was sporadic during the last half of my stay. MAnagement said it was throughout the city but wherever I went for coffee, food, the internet was working fine else in the area so not sure if they had a different service than the other properties. Also, I asked for two wake up calls but they never came. My phone worked fine but because my wake up was in the middle of the night, I wanted to have a back up. I don't think a guest should could on this property to do wake up calls--at least at 2:30 or 3:00 a.m. It says they have 24 hours front desk but I'm not sure if they are actively working or just on property and possibly sleeping/resting. This would not deter me from staying her again. The property is really well located and very clean. I would gladly stay her again. If internet worked and wake up calls would have come through, I would've given this property an excellent rating .BTW, I loved Cusco and Peru. The location is fantastic: two blocks from the Plaza de Armas, and one block from the quirky but very good Museo Inka. The street couldn't be quieter--one side is the back of a school, so just sounds of children during the day. The other side has only three businesses: this hotel, the excellent Organika restaurant, and a little cafe we never went to but which looked pretty cool. We had a twin bed room, both beds very comfortable, with side tables and plugs. There was a big wardrobe for hanging clothes and storing stuff, a portable heater, and plenty of hot water and water pressure in the shower. The place has a nice, woody, old-fashioned feel, with a sunny central courtyard and a lounge/library upstairs. Standard Peruvian breakfast (eggs, fresh fruit, bread, yogurt, coffee, etc.) but there's hot water all day for your tea, coca or otherwise. The staff is wonderfully friendly and helpful--we stashed our stuff there after we checked out on our last day in Peru and they invited us to chill in the courtyard...

Booked the budget triple room as a last minute resort after a nightmare AirBnB situation and could not have been more pleased! The rooms were clean, extremely spacious, and the front desk was super helpful. Wifi is fast, and the shower was mostly hot. The hotel appears to be a converted old castle of some sort for lack of better terms, and definitely feels like you're staying in one. Location is super optimal, just up the street from the Plaza de Armas and next door...
