A World-Class Gem in the Heart of Cusco
Weâve dined at Hanz Gastronomique three times now, and each visit has been a little culinary vacation of its own. From the first bite to the final sip, everything shines with the confidence of a restaurant that could hold its own against any big-name spot in Paris, New York, or Tokyo.
The menu is a love letter to flavor. The lamb dishes- whether you call it lamb or âthe happiest sheep in the Andesââare tender enough to make you question every other lamb youâve ever met. The salmon is equally memorable, perfectly seared with a melt-in-your-mouth finish that could convert even the most committed carnivore.
The atmosphere is a delight: warm lighting, stylish dĂ©cor, and that irresistible open-kitchen peek that lets you watch the magic unfold. Donât skip the aperitifs; they set the stage like a great opening act before a headliner concert.
And then thereâs Raul, our star of the evening each time. His service is so gracious and intuitive that I half-expected him to read my mind - thankfully he stopped just short of predicting dessert (though he did recommend exactly what we wanted). Raulâs attention and charm turned a great meal into an unforgettable night.
Hanz Gastronomique isnât just âgood for Cusco.â Itâs world-class, period. If youâre lucky enough to snag a table, bring your appetite and maybe an extra compliment or two for Raul -youâll...

Diferent treatment between âLatinosâ and âEuropeanâ people I arrived at the restaurant without any reservation and asked for a tabble with a panoramic view of the âplaza de armasâ. At that moment there was no free table. 5 minuts latter a table became free and a asked again to move to that table. The waitress Randy said that he was going to check and if there was no reservations, he should move me. After checking I was ready to move and a group of 4 European people arrived at the restaurant without reservation. Other waitress welcome that people and offered another table, but the European guy asked for the same table that I was about to move. The waitress that welcomed that people came to talk to Randy and said âpapi, sao 4 personasâ ( âcome on, they are in fourâ) In that moment, Randy stoped the service that he was doing (taking a beer for me) and started to organize the tabble and invited the âEuropean peopleâ to sit there. In that moment I complained and said that he was very preconception because the other guys was âenglish speakersâ Unfortunately they didnât realize that I speak English and Spanish and understood everything that they were talking about. In that moment I left that place. Thatâs not cool for a Place that receive...

Our server, Jorge, elevated our visit with his exceptional knowledge and genuine care for our dining experience. His friendliness and attentiveness set the tone for a memorable meal. The menu at Hanz is a culinary adventure. Our party sampled a diverse range of dishes:
Lamb Shank: Perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor. Udon Japonés Artesanal: A unique fusion dish that showcased the chef's creativity. Alpaca Hamburger: An innovative local twist on a classic, executed flawlessly.
Each dish was a masterpiece in its own right, with impeccable texture and taste. The homemade bread and appetizers were standouts, setting a high bar for other restaurants in the area. For cocktail enthusiasts, I highly recommend trying 'La Purita Verdad' or the 'Munaycha'. These drinks perfectly complemented our meal and added to the overall experience.
If you're in Cusco, make Hanz a priority. It's more than just a meal - it's an unforgettable culinary experience that will likely be a highlight of your visit to this...
