If you're looking for undercooked chicken that gives you and your family food poisoning, this place is apparently consistent on that. This was my experience twice in as little as 4 days!
Friday before Mother's day: Ordered to-go. Family chicken meal, two salads, 4 sides of green beans. Me and the 3 boys ate the chicken, Mom and daughter did not. Me and the boys all received very familiar and common symptoms of food poisoning later in the night.
Saturday: I tried to call and let them know. Sat on hold for a long time waiting on a supervisor. (Understandable being Mother's Day weekend) Hung up to try calling again and never had anyone pick the phone up. Decided to stop by and tell them while we were out doing other stuff. Manager was cool. Answered questions that they had about our experience. They made it right by offering a refund and a "meal for two." I've always had great end result even from bad experiences here. I think customer service has always been great here.
Monday: I received the "meal for two" and cashed it in that night for dinner. I got home, we served out dinners to our kids and started splitting into the chicken and noticed what is in the picture posted... undercooked chicken! I tried calling the resteraunt and no one picked up, even after waiting over 10 minutes. I decided to call the corporate office and let them know about my entire experience that's listed above. The lady I spoke to was cool about everything. She told me we might get a call back later with more questions and that they will look into this.
It's now Thursday: I haven't received a refund yet, but will update this if I ever do. We received a call that they basically indirectly tried denying any accusations that we could have had food poisoning from the resteraunt. That we should have gone to the doctor, had we experienced this and wanted to make a report. Making it seem like we were more concerned about filing a lawsuit more than making sure no one else experienced this issue in the near future... or ever. Clearly there are people in their kitchen that need more training.
I was willing to look past food rarely being ready when they said it would, missing items, forgetting things like no eggs on my salad, finding some weird scrap of food (hopefully) in my mashed potatoes, and having me make sure that the person that is responsible for putting together my order did it correctly (seriously Texas Roadhouse?....). However, I'm not going to be cool with a resteraunt consistently pushing out food that can make people sick.
The reader of this might think I'm doing too much with this post, but place yourself in my shoes and you probably would want to make sure no one gets anything but good service or better. I have 4 kids. My oldest is 13. He is nonverbal and autistic. He has incontinence issues. He can't tell us when he is starting to feel sick or if he's had an accident. So when you experience something that seemed to be preventable (undercooked chicken in two storage occasions) and you yourself are sick, cleaning up a mess in your sons room and watching him go through the same issues, you'd probably be upset after the company you have bad experiences with sent you more undercooked chicken as an apology AND tried to get legal with you and tell you you're probably wrong after the fact.... instead of apologizing for the literal crappy experience we had and reassure that the idiots running/working the poop program in Anderson will either be trained to do their job correctly (even if that goes as far as management) or that they will no longer be working there because food safety and customer experience should be big priorities for them.
Since that's not what I experienced, I would strongly suggest that the readers making it this far down the post choose any of the other many options that Anderson has to offer to eat at or, at the least, don't eat their...
Read moreI am rarely inclined to write a review. But with my wife and I's experience at Texas Roadhouse tonight 3/23, I felt inclined to do so. We are always reasonable with food service, as we both have worked in the food industry, it can be a high stress environment and I totally understand low staffing can happen from time to time.
After receiving a text that our table was ready, we went up to the hostess and she said it was not ready and we had to wait another few minutes, which is totally fine and understandable considering it was busy. Another Host calls our name and walks us to our table, when we get there the area under our table was filled with napkins, silver wear, stains, etc. I ask the host if there is a chance he can clean it, he said "I can't, however I will find our busser." Now, mind you, there was a broom right next to him and he probably could have swept it up but we stood next to our table awkwardly for 5 minutes with the employees giving us a look as if we caused a scene. The busser came by and gladly cleaned it up for us, he was the best part of the night as he was extremely apologetic and cleaned it up promptly.
Once we got in our booth, we ended up ordering an app, which came out great, and then later on we ordered our meals. Our waitress was decent and was very attentive with our drinks. However, we ended up waiting around an hour for our steak meals. She apologized for the wait and she told us she was working the back kitchen. She also said she wasn't sure why it was taking so long. I understand our waitress can only do so much.
Once we got our food after an hour, my steak was burnt and way overcooked. My wife's steak was also overcooked. I also ordered shrimp along with my steak, it was not hot and did not taste very good. It also did not come with bread as it usually does. At this point, I did not want to give this waitress a hard time. My wife and I wanted to just leave after being there for a little over 2 hours. I paid the tab and still tipped 20 percent for our waitress. Again, I understand she only had so much control as it was not her fault.
After we left, I decided to call the restaurant to speak with a manager, an employee answered and said that he will get a manager, I was put on hold for 3 min until the same employee answered and asked the same previous thing, I then said I needed to speak with a manager again, and I was put on hold yet again. After another 5 min, I had another employee answer very aggressively stating "What are you waiting on?" and I said " I just asked to speak to a manager." and then he stated aggressively, "Well we are really busy so they can't get with you right now so I will keep you on hold still." At that point, I felt it was best to hang up. I decided to cut my losses.
Again, at the end of all this, we both understand that food service is a tough business. However, we were not happy with the service and food quality. When you spend around 100 bucks to go out, you expect a certain quality of service and I feel like the Texas Roadhouse in Anderson really missed the mark on...
Read moreI haven't been here in a long while, after last night, I remembered why. I can honestly say I will not be going back, ever again. Even if they were to expand the current seating areas, which they desperatly need to do, just to accomidate demand for services at this location alone. Never again. Our younger waitress tho was patient, with excellent service. She was very sweet, very busy, and extremely accommodating with our party of 8, which included 2 small children and my elderly Mother. The table was extremely cramped and over crowded for the area it was in. Not to mention very small for our group of family members, with no room for all of us or for all of our food and drinks. There was absolutely no room at all around us to even walk, or for us to move in our chairs let alone for any other patrons coming and going, or for the staff to just to be able to do their jobs freely and safely. We were constantly having to shove ourselves against the table to accommodate traffic flow, which was non-stop. The seating area alone was way too small for our group, or any other group with over 2 people really, and 4 other full tables surrounding us, which put our party of 8 in the middle of everyone. They first tried to divide us all by seating our large group at two seperate booths, after our 45 min of a wait to be seated mind you, but we all wanted to sit together obviously and the staff did quickly accommodated our request to move. Bless their hearts. The food...ugh! 6 of us had very cold plates of food served to us, 4 of us had to return our original whole meal for wrong orders and incorrect "doneness" of steaks. 2 of us had partial meals returned for something left off or for extras added and not ordered with their meal. Then after the "corrections" were re-served, 3 of those re-orders were not cooked to what was origionally ordered, again, and 1 of those who ordered an 8oz. steak was only to be again served another undercooked 6oz. steak. All of this then being topped off by being told that the 6oz. steaks and the 8oz. steaks were both the very same steaks with no difference to them at all anyway. Mmmkay. đ€ After that, at that point, we all just kept our 2nd served wrong orders without sending them back for a 3rd time...while the very few rest of us at the table was nearly done eating their original orders anyway. Crazy to me to spend that good amount of hard earned money there, only to leave left feeling like you could have went 10 times over to some random terrible fast food chain somewhere and still could have gotten more bang for your big bucks. Oi. đ What a...
