This place did not honor their clearly advertised happy hour prices. I was charged a much higher rate and when asked about it I was told she needed to text her boss for approval. I waited 15 minutes with the sign clearly posted before asking her again. She told me she couldn't do anything for me. She claimed I was asking for free drinks. I was accused of yelling at her as well. I have never been made to feel so bad for stopping by a place. Avoid at all costs!
Edit 1: The bartender absolutely did not mention anything about charging us for food. That makes perfect sense and would have been an adequate explanation for the additional charge. That isn't what happened though. We ordered two rounds of drinks and then went to close out. I was never provided with a receipt to review since she took my card at the very start. I was faced with a 22 dollar bill when it should have been 16. I simply asked about the difference and she said that her button on the register must be broken and that she would have to call/text her boss. We went outside and finished our second drink. She never followed up on what to do about the charge while we waited 15 minutes. After the second drink was finished, I went inside to inquire if she had heard back. She said she hadn't and began getting very frustrated saying, "what do you expect me to do, give you free drinks?" I told her absolutely not and that I would be fine just having my money back. In that process she began pouring another two drinks. It was clear she couldn't/wasn't going to refund the difference. Once again, she never said there was a food charge. Even more, if there was a food charge, why did the food not show up at our table at some point? Seems weird to charge someone for something you never intended to give them. I took the third round of drinks and slowly backed away from her. She did say several times to stop yelling at her but I was so confused because I was talking in a lower voice then her. I never yelled or threatened her in any way. Please upload the video so everyone can see. It was clear the waitress was very frustrated and overwhelmed and you see me on your cameras backing away from that situation the entire time. I understand you have been in business a long time and I appreciate you taking the time to explain things from your...
Read moreI'm seeing some reviews calling out the Irish Bartender here and my experience was quite the opposite. He was such a fun person to talk to, gave us great reccs, told us some fun stories. We were visiting from Chicago and the Little Club as a whole reminded me of dive bars back home. Struck up some great conversation, some great tunes, and again the gentleman bartender was what kept us staying there for x amount of hours. If you don't understand what a dive bar is maybe your expectations are skewed this place was a blast to my friends and I. Why would you want to wait an hour to be seated to have a drink when you can go here, have a few beverages, get some reccs for SD and share some stories in the process to make you feel at home! I hope the next time I visit SD the Irishman is...
Read moreBeer smelled like pee. I had the blonde and it took me back to when I was toilet training my kids and they would have accidents. I love a good dive bar - I can appreciate the vibe and history but if we ever go back, it’s bottled beer for me. I was told they never clean the lines or taps, which makes the beer nasty. It was nasty. Seemed that the bartender wasn’t thrilled to have us or anyone else at the bar. I don’t expect bright and cheery, but polite…yes. We were told that if you’re not local, don’t expect to be welcomed. I don’t know if this holds true, but as a first-timer here, I felt it. We paid our tab and I tipped over 20%....
