We stayed here the fourth through the sixth of July at this location. We usually stay at Christmas Mountain Village; but as they were booked up we stayed here. The staff was wonderful! Vicki checked us in and was always wonderful with whatever we needed as she worked all three days that we were there. We stayed in a two bed one bath unit and had seven people total. It was a delight to find out that the unit had a whirlpool bath in the master bedroom!! I wasn't expecting that as Christmas Mountain renovated their units to remove them! We had plenty of room and the staff were great. The only problem we had was with the wristbands that I had purchased online for the remaining guests in our party. When I ordered the wristbands for use at Mt Olympus I called and asked where I could pick them up and was told that since I was staying at the Odyessey that I could walk across Hotel Rome and pick them up there on our way to the indoor water park. I gave the four wristbands that were issued with our room to four of the teenagers with us and we all walked over to Hotel Rome and waited in line for forty min. to be told that we had to leave and go to the main ticket booth on the other side of the park and walk back to our car to drive back to Blue Green Parking at the hotel since they took away the Blue Green lot next to the park and then walk all the way back to the indoor water park to be allowed in! They also took away the back entry into the park that is right up the hill from our room which my son found out the hard way! Just because he had the green wristband that was issued with the room he walked up the hill to be let in and had to leave his friends behind and walk all the way back to the indoor water park and couldn't find his friends. Back to the original problem though, I went back to the conceriege at Odyessey and they called over to be told the same thing that I had to drive back to main gate and explain to the parking attendant that I had to pick up wristbands, wait in line for fifteen more min, drive back to hotel then walk back to Medusa's water park and try to find the other teens in our party to let my son go with them! We wasted That was over an hour wasted because Mt Olympus told us wrong information! When we picked up our wristbands the attendant told us we should have been able to get them from Hotel Rome in the first place!!! So angry at them! The concierge apologized for them and it really wasn't BlueGreen's fault so I don't blame them at all but Mt Olympus really needs to get their priorities and public relations department straightened out! I still give The Odyssey five stars because this wasn't entirely their fault. The room was spacious enough for all of us. As always the kitchen was a nice addition. Small but accompaning. Small shower could have been a bit bigger since I am Claustiphobic but it is all glass so is a little better. We watched a forty-five min fireworks show right from our balcony which was amazing!!!! I really hated the light on our balcony that comes on automatically though. It was right outside our bedroom and there is room darkening curtains; but I like to rise with the outside light and found that I overslept both nights since it was so dark in our room; but we needed to pull the curtains because of the automatic light there. Staff were responsive helpful and provided anything we could have needed. Really will...
Read moreIf I could give this resort no stars I would. I couldn't let another day go past without writing a review. Me and my family booked two rooms (very outdated) this resort for one week. We were suppose to stay from 1/8-1/15th. Our family drove 3 hrs to this resort with hopes of having a good time. As soon as me and my family walked through the door to meet relatives that had made it there before us, we were aggressively approached at the door asking if we had the right resort and did we already know our room number. Immediately it raised a red flag. After two days of staying at this resort one of our rooms were addressed by staff at 8 in the morning stating they smelled smoke ( a bald face lie everyone were still sleep). After they realized there was no smoke and saw that one of our relatives had a service dog due to health issues they asked both rooms to leave the premises within 15 minutes without even asking for any of the paper work on the dog. We explained that before we booked with the resort we called and confirmed the dog could come. The staff were very rude and told us they were filing an eviction. The resort called the police to have us escorted. We explained the situation to the police and they told us they only assist the resort and could not over ride the decision. We asked the front desk for documentation on the incident and was told they handle things internally by submitting notes in their system and they do not file police reports. The staff were making a mockery out of the situation with other staff in the hallway putting our family including two four month olds out in the cold. When the staff were addressed they told us they had to put out other people that were smoking who stayed above our rooms. We were forced to drive 3 hours home five days before our check out!
Today they charged my credit card 300$ for both rooms claiming a cleaning fee. I was confused as to why we were charged when we were thrown out of our rooms without ANY NOTICE! The staff claimed they received complaints and notified us several times which was a complete lie. I asked did they confuse us with the guests above us since they were put out for smoking the staff claims no one was occupying the 3rd floor due to renovations and it must've been kids running thru the hallway! They also said a police report was filed after being told they don't file reports...called the police department to get a copy for our records and no police report was on file. This place is a joke and prejudice! No documentation was provided to us pertaining to the incident and no documentation was signed even upon arrival for check-in... I do feel that this place is prejudice and was finding reasons to remove African Americans from their resort. I would never...
Read moreWe decided to come here for my son's 4th birthday thinking that it would be a great opportunity to enjoy a water park (wristbands were included!) and since Mt Olympus stated that they were only giving wristbands to people who were staying there, we thought this would mean slightly less of a crowd even though it was a weekend (more on that to come). Bluegreen was so cool, they had asked if we would be celebrating anything during our stay and I told them it would be for my son's birthday. We were so pleasantly surprised when we arrived at our room and they had decorated outside the room with a birthday banner and balloon! They also had a sweet little display of Wi Dells soda and candy for him on the table! The staff at Bluegreen were fantastic (Shout out to Misty who was so kind and understanding of my frayed nerves after driving with a bunch of toddlers for hours)! We stayed here on a Friday until Sunday evening. We were going to stay until Monday but the crowding in the water park at Mt Olympus was SO BAD, we didn't see a reason to stay another night. We went to the water park on Friday evening about 1.5 hours before closing and it was absolutely ridiculously packed with people, no one wore a mask including staff and people were easily sneaking in through side doors and My husband found a baggie of drugs right next to the kiddie pool which we reported to the staff who wore gloves to dispose of it. It was pretty disastrous. We decided to skip the water park completely on Saturday since it was clearly going to be just as busy as it was on Friday (if not worse) and went to the little downtown area to get candy and ice cream. Half of the guests we had with us left on either Saturday night or early Sunday morning due to feeling so uncomfortable with the lack of Covid consideration at the water park and other areas of the dells. I will say that Bluegreen Odyssey did their best to enforce covid-19 precautions such as mask wearing by anyone in common areas and also having security making rounds 24/7 which definitely helped us feel safer. I did take my son to the water park right when they opened on Sunday morning and the crowds were much more reasonable and social distancing was easily maintained, however it began to get more and more crowded the closer it got to lunch time. All in all, the stay at Bluegreen was great with the exception of the way Mt Olympus chooses to operate their resort. I would recommend trying to come during the week if you want to utilize the water park since it would hopefully be much less crowded. Otherwise you would be better off staying at Christmas Village and just paying the extra money at a different waterpark that hopefully enforces better Covid...
