HOTEL/MOTEL: We stayed in the "Village" which are old mom and pop motels that were bought up by Mt. Olympus. We stayed in building 23. From the outside it looked OK. Fresh coat of paint and new signage. Building 22 which was next to us had rotting siding that was painted over and looked to be in worse shape. Inside building 23 we were transported back in time to the 1970's. The room was OK. Laminate floors and old tile from the 70's. The laminate was not a good choice for whomever made that decision as it was mildly water damaged. The 70's tile was in great shape so I'm not surprised it's not been replaced. The decor of the room was a mis-mash of Mt. Olympus and old west with antler looking wall lights and a large water wheel bunk bed made out of raw lumber. My kids slept in the water wheel bunk bed which they thought was great. The queen sized bed was not comfortable. You could hear and feel the springs. The bed had thin sheets and a thin blanket so we had to crank the heat all night. As per a typical motel room it was loud. People on either side of us were blasting the TV well into the morning. Lots of people stumbling in around 1 am. Not atypical for any motel or hotel room. Soda machine in 23 (which was out of service), the ice machine was in the next building (22). If you have trouble with stairs be aware there was no elevator.
WATER PARK/THEME PARK: The main entrance was closed due to construction so you have to take an alternate route. The "map" they give you is not very helpful. Better/larger signage is needed here. We took a wrong turn our first trip there and wound up in one of Mt. Olympus's other motel purchases which was a wreck. Broken furniture and glass all over the lot. They clearly were not using this building but it's a very bad look. We were not the only people getting lost. Many cars were randomly driving around trying to find the hidden rear entrance to the park. Once there, most of the parking spots are reserved for guest staying in buildings 1 and 2. We had trouble finding a place to park. If your in a larger vehicle it's a tight lot.
In order to get to the water park or the indoor theme park you have to go though the hotel. The young woman checking for wrist bands to enter the park was not paying attention at all. You could walk right though. I saw several people in the water park and the theme park not wearing wrist bands. Staff here needs to be trained better, they clearly didn't care. Once in the water park the life guards were friendly and helpful however they do spend a lot of time checking out all the scantly clad young ladies walking about.
Water park was fine for my 8 and 9 year old. They got board after about 4 hours. Two large slides, 2 pools a lazy river, kids area and two heated pools. The line for the heated pools was always long so we never used those. Be careful on the stairs leading up to the water slides. There are a lot of rusted steps. A few steps had pieces falling off. There was also a broken railing on the way up as well that had caution tape over it. Hopefully, once the addition is done they can address some of the issues with the existing park.
The theme park is really only appropriate for younger kids. If you are bringing your teen here they will have nothing to do. The rides are mobile carnival rides that have been permanently installed into a large building. My kids had fun for a few hours then got board. A good portion of the space is occupied by arcade machines. The staff here did not pay attention to anything at all. I saw people walking around vaping, there were very few wrist bands and I saw on two occasion a ride operator leave the ride while in operation to talk to other employees. My daughter was on a "pogo" ride where the operator left a metal water bottle above her head. We didn't notice until the ride was in operation. Luckily it fell off the back and did not hit her in the head.
Overall the experience wasn't what we were hoping. Perhaps we had unrealistic...

I recently stayed at Mt. Olympus Rome in Wisconsin Dells from May 28 to 30 and would like to share my experience.
Upon arrival, the check-in area resembled a warehouse or an empty airport terminal, which was a bit concerning, especially given the number of unused hotels nearby. We eventually upgraded to Building One, conveniently located just down the street.
Building One features a small arcade, a bar and grill (which was closed during our visit), and a coffee shop. There is also a sitting area with chairs, a couch, and tables, along with a gift shop selling similar items found throughout the park.
Upon reaching our floor, I noticed the elevator was quite small. The room itself was satisfactory, although I encountered issues with the internet connectivity—there was none at all. I called customer service to report the problem, and although they promised to send someone to assist us, no one ever arrived. When I called back, I was informed that the internet was only available for texting. However, my phone service allows me to text without Wi-Fi, rendering that information inaccurate. The network simply indicated "unsecured," and we were without Wi-Fi for the entire trip.
Additionally, I found the park area was not as expansive as advertised; only one side of the indoor waterpark was open. I had been looking forward to hot tub relaxation, which I unfortunately did not experience. Be prepared for significant walking to explore all the amenities included in your stay. I also recommend bringing your own towels, as we found ourselves without any for drying off after swimming.
Despite these issues, I would consider returning to Mt. Olympus Rome in the future, provided that the Wi-Fi is fixed and the hot tub becomes operational. Overall, the experience could be improved with...
Read moreWe were not impressed. Our room was at the main check in building. We had stayed here years ago before it was Mount Olympus (I think it was the Polynesian) and it was a nicer stay than this weekend. First off, the smell was very unappealing right from the start. Our room was ok (definitely not the nicest and pretty dirty for being under the Mount Olympus name), the beds were uncomfortable, at one point the hallway had a heavy smell of pot, and the pool was only open until 8:00 which I felt was ridiculous especially for a weekend. It was very deceiving when I booked a room and was under the assumption that we were at the water park and had to drive 5 minutes to get there. At check in there were other people that said the same thing. The people in the room above us had a kid that was running around and making so much noise very late into the night. My husband called the front desk and they said they would send a security officer. Nothing happened. The kid was still loud and our family couldn’t get to sleep. My husband woke up around midnight and the kid was still making noise. He called the front desk two more times and nobody answered so he went to the front desk. He said there were people checking in and there was only one girl at the desk and she was on the phone. He didn’t even bother waiting. At that point he was tempted to go upstairs and handle it himself. It was so bad the second night that we ended our stay early and drove two hours home at 10:00 at night. We came here for a celebratory weekend getaway and it was definitely NOT worth the money they charge to stay there. It was such a disappointment that we will not go back or recommend...
