On Oct. 18 I checked in to this hotel, I got the key to the room 112 when I entered the room the smell was like someone has changed a baby's diaper. I walked back to the room and went to the office to let the receptionist know that I cant even breath in that room. she than gave me another room 120. I went in it did smell but not as bad as the room 112. ||||first night I saw with the AC on but the next night on ||oct. 19 around 11:45 pm my fiancé said he is feeling sick, he had chills I turned on the heater because the night was kind of cold too. within 30 minutes cockroaches came out from the back of the bed , in the bathroom all over the walls and ceiling. ||||There is no way on earth that I spend the night with room full of cockroaches. ||we went straight to the office at 12 am to let the front desk agent know that there are cockroaches all over the place. ||||The guy "Abu" apologized and stated that it is a well known issue because the building is so old and you will get a refund. ||||Me and my fiancé could not find a place near by so we slept in the car and the next day we went back to Raleigh even though we planed to stay till Monday and that is why we booked the room for 3 nights. but could not stand the dirtiness of the room, the smell and the cockroaches. WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!! after I reached Raleigh I emailed the manager " ANGELA POLING" She had the guts to ask me if I have a receipt to show I have stayed in another hotel? after I stated clearly that we slept in the car that night and had to leave Charleston and go home the next day. in the email I sent her.||||She then never replied. I reached out to her that I have not heard anything from her. She replied that I am sorry there is no issue with that room. ||||I feel like someone needs to lock her in that room 120 for a week with the heater on so she can see what the problem is in that room. Unbelievable! after so many comments and complaints about the cockroaches and dirtiness of this place she has the guts to lie through her teeth and say that there is no issue with that room. ||||She must be ready to get retired or she is not in the right state of mind ! ||||Stay away from this nasty place! it is just scam! I was told that I can not get the refund even though our special moment was ruined by this place and the cockroaches plus such a heartless manager who did not care to even...
Read moreIf I could give it 0 stars I would! My husband and myself checked in late and we should have left from just seeing the front there was atleast 3 cars of people waiting to check in and standing all around the front lobby.. it looked like a lady was possibly training a man so we just waited patiently because we didn’t feel like driving to another hotel and had already booked the stay with my Wyndham rewards points. This place was bottom of the barrel nasty, we had to walk past and around people that were sitting all outside the rooms on the ground then when we got to the room it had a smell worst than death it was room #223. We tried calling to the front and I guess the phone didn’t work so my husband said he would walk down to the front, when he got to the front neither of the 2 were at the front so he came back and said “let’s just get air freshener by the time we find another hotel we won’t have any sleep” so we got the car freshener came back sprayed the room and it over powered the new scent. We attempted 1 more time to get in touch with the front this time calling from my cell phone with no response during that time we could hear people yelling at each other and banging on stuff so we turned the tv up and went to sleep but had our alarms set so that at the crack of dawn we could leave, we left at around 6:00am to get out of there. I tried calling once we were home but was hung up on. I then had to call a corporate number where I was told I would be contacted in 7-10 days but was emailed by someone at the property that first started her email off by calling me Ms. Downer when I believe I have said my husband the entire time that shows ignorance right there smh just for Ms. Ignorant to tell me because it’s a outside MOTEL people are outside and because we stayed in the room that next time come back down and request to move rooms lol so I guess we didn’t try that?? But I guess they want you to fight through people and their fighting to get to room and from. But okay so anyone that is choosing to stay there ask what kind of people they get here and save yourself the trouble of buying a room just ask to rent a space in the parking lot and sleep in car because that’s what people were doing anyway. Never again! She offered a discount on the next stay lol for what??! To come back to my car on blocks or a broken...
Read moreAs someone with years of experience in hospitality consulting and hotel auditing, I rarely leave public reviews, but this particular Days Inn deserves critical attention.
I’ve stayed several times when needing to check in somewhere last minute, late night, when I have my dog. Desperately.
From the start, the experience was marred by basic operational failures: I had to be relocated twice—first due to a room with no functioning air conditioning or hot water. then again due to no ac in the replacement. These are fundamental amenities, and the fact that multiple rooms were out of order speaks to deep neglect in both maintenance practices and quality control.
More concerning was the environment surrounding the hotel. Throughout my stay, there was visible prostitution, public drinking, and a constant sense of unease on the property. This reflects a broader issue: the property appears to function less as a hospitality venue and more as a transient or extended-stay shelter, without appropriate oversight or security.
Inside the room, conditions were unsanitary. Roaches were present, fixtures were newer but cheap, shoddy or broken (outlets won’t hold standard charger blocks) and the overall cleanliness was far below acceptable standards—let alone brand expectations for a Wyndham-affiliated property.
That said, I want to be fair in noting that the front desk staff did show a desire to help. They were courteous and made genuine attempts to relocate me, despite working within a clearly failing system. Their efforts were appreciated—but unfortunately could not overcome the structural and environmental deficiencies of the property itself.
It is surprising that this location continues to operate under the Days Inn brand. If this property recently passed a Wyndham inspection, it raises serious questions about franchise oversight and accountability. This motel is not just underperforming—it actively damages the brand’s credibility.
I strongly urge corporate intervention, or a full reconsideration of this property’s place within the Wyndham portfolio.
