updated at the end after reading Carrie posters review Neat little used bookstore off the main drag of Old Mill Ave. Well Worth a browse if you're a reader looking for some well priced used and vintage books in excellent condition.
Limited selection's with most of your more contemporary writers in stock. I DID NOT peruse the vintage selections, so I'm not sure about those offerings. I shopped mostly for some titles' that are missing on my self, so my experience was geared more in that direction.
The owner or salesperson there was top notch, friendly and soo helpful. Made the experience of being in there a pleasure.
We bought 3 books, a cookbook, Beer brewing and wine guide. The owner/salesperson was so nice, she even offered to let us leave our purchases because they were soo heavy! What kind of service is that? Above and beyond I'd say.
I posted my review before I read Below posters (Carrie somethings review and the owners response).
As a voracious reader for 30+ years and being an older male with what's generously called a frugal disposition I agree with the owner. While in the store and looking at the offerings and then looking at the prices I feel like she prices correctly. I buy used from amazon, Abe's, Alibris and numerous other online sellers for used, signed 1st editions, specialty and trade books, novels, etc... which range easily into the hundreds to thousands of dollars new or at other places.
Short story long... she prices correctly for the offerings. She was cheaper than my online sources actually, when you factor...
Read moreIf you're someone who finds joy in charming indie vibes, quirky knick-knacks, and the unmistakable smell of well-loved books, A Long Story Short Co. is your new happy place. I recently snagged a couple of books and some irresistibly cute trinkets, and let me tell you—it felt like stepping into a cozy nook of curated treasures.
The books? Thoughtfully selected, not just the mainstream bestsellers, but titles that feel handpicked by someone who genuinely loves stories. Each one felt like it was waiting just for me. And the knick-knacks? Oh, they're not just shelf-fillers—they've got personality. Think bookmarks that make you smile every time you crack open a book, little desk companions you didn’t know you needed, and other whimsical finds that add charm to your space.
The vibe of the shop (whether online or in person) feels warm and welcoming, like a friend sharing their favorite things with you. The packaging was thoughtful, the customer service felt personal, and everything arrived in perfect condition.
A Long Story Short Co. doesn’t just sell stuff—it tells a story with every product. Highly recommend if you love supporting small businesses that put heart into everything they do. Five stars, two thumbs up, and a very happy...
Read moreWe were on vacation in pigeon forge and I stumbled across this place and planned to visit it all day! I was really excited actually. With that being said, on vacation in pigeon forge it’s hard to stay on a time schedule. I was able to get here at 4:45 right before they close so I could look around just really quick before they close because unfortunately we were driving home the next day. I couldn’t come here any earlier in the day because they don’t open early enough. Anyway, I tried to come inside and the door was unlocked , not realizing they already closed. The lady , she was older with darker hair, was so rude to be when she told me they were closed. Like it was my fault because I didn’t know they were going to close early. It was just really rude the way I was spoken to and I didn’t appreciate it. I guess if your a small business you can close whenever you want and loose customers in...
