Hanoi Hostel Life — Hotel in Hà Nội

Firstly, you can't go past the cheap price! Unlimited tea/coffee and bananas plus breakfast included. A very generous offer! ||Staff excellent. Very helpful. Booked 2 tours through them. Very happy with both.||Location is excellent! Close to the old gate entrance, the glass doors look and step right out into the action of the food market. Meats, live fish and frogs, fruit and veg, tofu, piles of eggs etc. It's alive and vibrant. A very authentic part of the old quarter. We liked being away from the tourist bars but close enough to walk.||Beds all comfy. Our first room was on the 4th floor. Heaps of step stairs. Can't be helped but good to know if you have bad knees! Toilet leaked when flushed but we dealt with it but hosing after flushing so it didn't smell. No problem!||After returning from a tour, our room was booked and we were given 2 rooms for the same price. We loved this! One room on the scond floor was excellent. The other on the 1st floor had a blocked floor drain so it flooded after each shower. We dealt with this by spacing showers. No problem! Also the air con was passable. Not icy cold at the coldest temp. 1st floor is very noisy as its so close to the market. Noise not an issue on 4th floor.||Following night we were supposed to have our 4th floor room back but there was a booking issue. Staff very apologetic but we couldn't keep the 2 rooms. They offered to put 3 mattresses on the floor for our kids which we would have accepted if the air con worked well and the shower didn't flood. We could deal with it ok with 2 of us but 5 people in a small room would have been hot and difficult. ||Overall, we felt well looked after and we were very happy with our stay here. We...

I usually don’t write reviews, but I’ll make an exception for this horrible place. Firstly, the hostel is located in a very dirty area next to an outdoor meat market. As mentioned in other reviews, it’s a very unhygienic and smelly street. I literally saw a rat and some cockroaches creeping around me at the point I left the taxi in front of the hotel. In other words, the place is disgusting not only outside but also inside. Secondly, the main reason I’m writing this review is because the hostel let us down. I am completely aware that it’s a d irt-cheap place, and that I shouldn’t expect a 5-star service, but the hostel let us down us big time. We booked a tripple room and arrived fairly late (5AM). By the time we arrived at the hostel, we got informed that our room wasn’t available anymore, because they gave it away. They had some excuse, they said that it wasn’t their fault, according to them the old owner had to be blaimed... The most annoying thing was that around the time we arrived it’s almost impossible to find another hotel for that same night. They didn’t have a solution for us nor did they provide us any help. The most ridiculous thing was that they didn’t even let us access their wifi. ||I strongly encourage everyone to AVOID this place as your booking is worth...

First thing: really rude receptionist. Omg. Felt so unwelcome the whole time ||||Room: dirty and so noisy from the streets. Windowframes have a bunch of wholes in em so all dirt and heat and noise came in. Even though we paid for A.C, we were not able to cool the room down, couldnt sleep very well that night. ||||Breakfast: just don't do it, greassy eggs, no taste, and i got sick from the milk (which havent happend in all my asia travels before) ||||Luggage storage 2$ per day ||||Would never come back. ||||When they realized that we are not too happy, they CANCELLED our booking in booking.com (even though we paid and stayed there) just to avoid a bad review so don't belive the high score||||Just go anywhere else,...
