Burger Bistro — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Came here on a Tuesday night around 8:30 pm. We were looking to go to another resturant in the areas that closed at 9 and had a limited menu. So we choose to go here instead.

The restaurant was empty and had maybe 4 parties while we were there. They have a lot of seating, indoor and outdoor and can accommodate many groups.

I ordered the cheese steak burger. It was okay, real diner food like. Not exciting but good enough for me to finish.

Why the 3 stars? Honey is lactose intolerant and we know Europe is not the best place for a lactose intolerance. When she ordered her burger, she said no cheese and I told the server she had an allergy. She said she noted it. The burger came out with cheese. Before it hit the table we sent it back. The server apologized and sent it back. The kitchen scrapped the melted cheese off the burger and returned it to our table. Upon investigation there where cheese remains on the burger produce and some of the bun. We told the server and she said "oh I have to see if we can redo it" and a gentleman came over and we explained the issue to him. And only then, they remade the burger completely.

I'm keeping in mind that customer service in the EU is not the best either but we told them it's an allergy and they ignored it.

Was reluctanted to make this post also because they are a small business, but we walked passed here in on Wednesday night and they were packed. They will be okay.

Overall. Solid 2.75 over...

Food was just okay, not amazing. Chicken was actually a bit bland. The salads rare overpriced IMHO. The young man who served me was nice enough, though got part of my order wrong. The guy who was bartending and cashing customers out was not friendly and acted strangely toward me, like he had a grudge - even though I’d never been there before. He followed up that treatment by being rude and presumptuous while I was checking out. Not pleasing AT ALL. I don’t know if it’s just women he treats poorly or if he spreads his acerbic personality across genders, but I will NOT be returning to this establishment again on my remaining 10 days in Amsterdam. And the owners will be missing out on quite a bit of revenue since I’m traveling with family - and I’ve warned them not to go to Burger Bistro as well. Foolish business practices. Shame on you...

Not great Staff are extremely rude and blunt. Sat without being told their toilets were broken. Staff very rudely telling people the toilets were broken and surprised when customers were confused. Staff were shouting and arguing between them, felt like total chaos. Unfortunately, People were being sat and leaving immediately after finding out from others the toilets were broken. The classic cheese burger was tasteless and disappointing for the price although my partners bacon and cheese burger was good. Burger doesn’t come with fries so you have to pay for them separately. For a classic burger and fries it was around €18/€19. Fries were very good as well as the cheese sticks. But overall the place is chaotic, food is bland and not...
