In January, we booked a 7days private car tour service to Cusco area in May with Marco from Andean Magic Travel. Before booking, we had contacted 3 travel service companies.Although Marco's quote was the most expensive, but we chose him because we saw on G map his company very close to our hotel. He also promised he'll provide us with high quality services. He want us to pay 70% deposit (but we only paid 50% of the deposit, the remaining 50% would be paid after we arrived in Cusco). He told me their company's office near Plaza Mayor de Cuzco, we could trust and contact them any time! We believed him and sent our detailed itinerary to Marco, looking forward to have a wonderful vacation. May 13, when we arrived to Cusco from that moment on, he brought us many surprises! First, he with a friend who can spoke English picked us up at the airport. Then we find out Marco can't speak English, only communicate through Google Translate. Also he has no company or office address, it's just personal Uber business. Due to the risk of scam, we want to wait until we returned from Machu Picchu to pay the remaining 50% of the balance. We don't know why his English speaking friend can't servers us? May 15, our plan is to visit the Sacred Valley and then take the train to Aguas Calientes. In the morning, Marco with his 6years old daughter come to the hotel to pick us up, told us his wife was sick, so he had to take his daughter with us. Although his daughter was cute, but we were surprised and sympathetic. In the evening, Marco also changed our tour guide to Machu Picchu at the last minute. May 16, the English guide at Machu Picchu was very good. We had a pleasant experience for 2.5 hour visit. In the evening, I got carsick on the bus back to Cusco. When we arrived in Cusco at 9pm, Marco urged us to pay the remaining 50%, can't wait till next morning!! May 17, Marco self invited his wife & daughter join in our trip to Pitumarca. He said May 17- 18th were weekends, he would not leave his family at home, he want to take them travel with us. At that time, he also said that his daughter had to go to school on Monday-on 19th, so his wife & daughter will go home by bus in the evening on the 18th. We felt very forced. This's not the way we wanted to travel!! May 18, we go to Queswachaka Inca Bridge's plan have to cancelled, because the bridge was destroyed by humans. Marco suggested we go hiking to Waqrapukara, but he was lacked of detailed communications. We went hiking with him & his family without sufficient preparation. The highest altitude was 4559 M above sea level, we did the hike round trip 18.5 KM, which took us 9 hours to complete. On the way back, I had severe altitude sickness, lack of water, fatigue, headache, dizziness, nausea, short & difficulty of breath!! May 19, Marco's wife & daughter didn't go home, went to Rainbow Mountain with us again! During these 3 days, Marco most likely just look after his family & busy shooting many promotional videos for his business! May 20, Marco suggested us to change the original hiking route to 7 lakes of ausangate & go to the route he wanted to go. We refused him, because we had already paid for a local English guide to 7 lakes with us. When we arrived at 7 lakes, he was most excited than anyone, because he found a mosy beautiful hiking route that would benefit his business! May 21, we returned to Cusco. Along the way, Marco farted a lot in the car, smell awful!we were very embarrassed sitting behind him! We often travel , being with Marco these few days made us feel like we were spending money to accompany his family on vacation! ! He always likes to leave the window open when he driving, even on the highway. I was very cold when sitting behind him. We told him several times, but he only closed the window short time & opened it again. I have to wear the hood of my down jacket to keep myself warm in the car. Please don't get us wrong, Marco is not a bad person, he just lacks of tourism work experience & unprofessional. I think he deserve our real feedback to beneficial his...
Read moreWe had the absolute pleasure of spending an incredible week with Marco during our trip to Peru, and we can’t recommend him highly enough! From the moment we met him, he greeted us with a warm smile and a genuine enthusiasm that immediately put us at ease. On our first day together, Marco drove us through the stunning Sacred Valley to Pisac. He shared knowledge about the region and its rich history, and you could truly feel how proud he is of his country. His passion for Peru was infectious, and it added so much meaning to our journey.
Later in the week, Marco woke up before sunrise- well before us! - to drive us to Rainbow Mountain. He was waiting patiently with the same kind energy, ready to help us experience one of the most breathtaking sights in Peru. Navigating the winding mountain roads is no small feat, but Marco did it with such skill and care that we felt completely safe the entire way.
We are endlessly grateful for Marco, not just for his driving, but for his kindness, his stories, and his genuine heart. He went above and beyond to make our time in Peru unforgettable. If you’re lucky enough to have Marco as your driver, you’re in for something truly special....
Read moreWe did all our Tours in Cusco ( sacred valley, private transfers, Rainbow Mountain ) with Marco and this was our best decision ever we made for Cusco. He is an amazing fun loving person who took care of all the tours even guiding us with every useful tips and information regarding the sites we visited. He was very punctual , attentive to our needs and very accommodating. I was not 100% with my health for the trek to rainbow mountain, however Marco was so accommodating allowing us to do the hike at our own pace(not like the other group trips 😉). He even took us to his favourite places to taste amazing local food. We can completely assure you that you will be in safe hands and have a memorable...
