Good luck ever getting any packages here. And if they even get marked as deliverable they'll end up stolen. I've lost so many deliveries of things that can't be replaced. I've had two lost in the past four days and overall more lost/stolen packages than ones I've actually managed to receive.
How Essex thinks it's ok for this to be so widespread and often mentioned in reviews, especially in this day and age of online ordering being so prevalent, is inexcusable.
No one other than maintenance works on site. Delivery guys never have access to building because there's no call boxes. So they'll just leave them out in the open or the unlocked mail rooms, or just not deliver them at all.
They double book parking spaces, then take weeks to fix it because apparently tracking which parking space is who's is too difficult for them.
I don't blame the staff (not that there is any), I blame the cheap management/landlord for not being willing to pay at least one person to actually be on site. It's not like rent is cheap here especially for how run down it is, guess all that money needs to go into the pockets of the owners.
Rent is ridiculous for what you get. Units are old, malfunctioning appliances. No AC, half the outlets won't work, light switches that apparently go to nothing. Breakers flip if you try to turn on more than two things at a time.
They spent who knows what on renovating the elevators that didn't need it, because that's exactly what we need, another week of not having the elevators that never work in the first place. Within two days of this renovation, people are just letting their pets defecate all over the elevators, no one around to clean it up or handle it, just sat there for two days on the elevator, just a giant log of dog crap. Glad I pay 3k a month for this, definitely feel like I'm getting my moneys worth.
Oh and the bi-monthly fire alarm that goes off at all times of the day and night, that takes 45 min to an hour to fix because the Fire Department has to come, and of course, there's no one actually working at the complex to actually handle any of that. At this point whenever a real fire does happen, none of us are even going to care or take it seriously because of how often the alarm goes off.
Awful management, awful experience, can't wait to see what my move-out bill is going to be considering all of the reviews here that note how they gouge.
Had to use an alternate email account for this review because I wouldn't be surprised if I faced retribution from the management for actually stating what it's like to live here. And looking through the reviews, I'm not the only one to share that fear. I'd list plenty of other issues with this place, but wouldn't want them to be able to figure out who I am.
I don't know what we pay for, because the unit itself is not worth the money, and the service (or complete lack of) doesn't do anything but detract from the value.
Maintenance guys are all super awesome though, they are the only single positive thing I can say about living here.
Oh and social media director, don't bother with your performative apology on this post, we both know nothing is going to be done about any of this. Look through the reviews, they aren't getting any better.
Don't have the time or the patience to listen to any more empty promises from anyone from Essex. Though, honestly based on some of the replies I've seen, it's likely just a bot doing them all anyway. Guess we'll know for sure if there's a reply to...

I will never recommend anyone leasing apartments under Essex management and especially in Ellington At Bellevue.
Every time I talk to leasing office I have to send them 5-10 emails or have to directly go to the office and wait for them as they doo not answer calls or reply to emails. When I went to leasing office with my concern they will respond saying we never faced fire before so we have no idea about the situation and how long it will take.
The have the worst management, unresponsive leasing management and they always keep customer at the lowest priority.
Worst Experience Essex Apartments
Ellington Properties Reached out with the concern still, requested to change the apartment, Apartment has no walls, there is no security, gate is not fixed, have open electric cables everywhere.
Worst Experience in Essex Apartments- Ellington at Bellevue. There has been a fire incident in the Ellington Apartment Since then my apartment is in Unlivable condition. We have reached out with the concern still no help from the management yet , its been more than a month.
Management and leasing office will never pick calls. We email them asking for help. They usually dont respond for a week and then they keep saying thy will call back, and no response in weeks until we reach out again. Never had such experience with any apartment complex before.
I need help. Its getting difficult living in this apartment.
I sent them below email: I am resident of C110 .I am writing to request change of my apartment to a similar amenity apartment in C building due to these reasons.
Since the fire incident, we have been patiently waiting for things to return to normal but my apartmrnt has been in a pathetic state since most of last month.
I feel very unsafe living in the apartment without any doors and proper walls
The apartment has lots of noise entire day and I can not work since I am an engineer who needs reasonable silence to work.
The apartment is not in a condition to have anyone over and I feel very depressed being alone all the time.
Also please note that very high power fans have been running 24 hours from a power outlet in my apartment, and I am not liable to pay for that power.
I have already paid rent for last month despite all these inconveniences but unfortunately I can not stay at the apartmrnt anymore. I will not be able to pay any rent for the current apartment after few days, probably after this week.
Please provide me another unit in the building so I can have a regular stay at Ellington. I was expecting it to be coming from you to take care of tenants but that does not seem to be the case.
Please consider this as very important and urgent since its affecting both of residents' well being.
We got response saying we are looking into your case and no help since them its been more than 2 weeks since I raised my concern.

Read moreThe staff has mostly been good. Aside from one of them who has given me attitude on several different occasions for a variety of things but oh well, not that big of a deal. The people aren't what I'm here for anyway. (The maintenance guy is super friendly though.) They are however horrible about notifying you about packages. I usually don't get a notification at all and when they do notify you, they don't mark the package as picked up when they should. I've randomly received emails that I picked up a package when I hadn't. Ironically it tends to be around the time I'm receiving a new package so that has caused me some confusion. Oh, and the mailroom has been broken into several times. I hope the burglars enjoy my junk mail but others may not be so lucky.
Parking is $75 a month, per car. I understand that's a decent rate. There was an incident where after having lived there for several months they sold my spot to someone who had just moved in. I wasn't thrilled to come home late at night (when all the other spots are full) and have someone else in my spot. We both talked to the office and I got my spot back and they got a different one. Not a huge deal, but an annoying oversight.
When I moved in, despite being told otherwise, the unit had absolutely not been cleaned. That, or it was cleaned by a blind person, and I suspect that is insulting to the blind as they would have likely done a better job. Let me explain. There was hair (the thick black sort) all along the baseboards, in the carpet, and stuck in the paint on the walls. (Yes, IN. No, it wasn't paintbrush hair.) There was a splatter of some sort on the ceiling in the kitchen and there were spots in the refrigerator. There were spots and debris in/on the drawers in the bathroom. Along with other general lack of cleanliness indicators.
Now, I knew the layout when I moved in and I was aware of the situation and made my peace with it but, there really is not much storage space at all. I.E. My vacuum lives in my walk-in clothes closet. Beyond that, the walls are thin. Like, really thin. I can hear the neighbors Alexa if I don't have anything playing in my place. I shudder to think what the neighbors have heard from my unit.
I will say the location is great though. Super walkable. And I was able to move in quickly which was great for everyone.
TL;DR Walls are thin, mail room gets broken into, storage will probably be lacking, and make sure they actually clean your unit before moving in. The location is super walkable though and if you aren't looking at an updated unit the pricing is decent, considering you're in...
