Had a problem with two phones with very different problems. Went in to have each one on the same day. Severe software malfunctions occurred after each service was complete within 24 hours. Even though both was running completely separate updates I thought it would be best to investigate talking to the store before taking action to determine whether it was the result of the service for a major software glitch from Apple. After speaking over the phone they had indicated it was most likely a software problem that happen around the same time not related to the repairs. I investgated further to find out in Apple chat that it could have been an assembly problem during the repair process. I then choose to open the phone to do the repair causing damage to the phone. After a fustrating night I choose to go into the store and talk it out. They addressed my concerns and knew what I had attempted to do and FREE of charge opened the phone correctly and showed me that the problem was not caused by their services be demo'in my phone to prove it. They suggested I go to my cell phone provider and look into an upgrade as they could not repair the damage I caused the night before. I listened and spoke to the staff with respect and restraint and by giving them a chance to prove the software problems were not caused by them I left happier rather than upset. My carrer was able to upgrade us without a problem as we were due soon anyway. Even my phone provider had said they do good work and that they could not find the cause of the problems or fix them. The only thing bad I had to say was (and I have worked for compaies like it) that when I came in with the problem the manager did not stay to address my concerns or discuss it. She walked away knowing there was a customer service problem and left someone else to handle it. To the credit of the employee they handled themselves very well but the point being she should have stayed and not leave the employee holding the bag. I did not want anything from them just information regarding my situation. Meanwhile I have freinds who know the situation who as me where they are located so they can...
Read moreI came to Fixology on Friday, May 6th in the afternoon to have my watch fixed with the recommendation of my brother-in-law. The dark bearded guy walked up and asked how he could help me. I told him I needed a battery replaced on my Seiko watch. He asked how long I've had it and told me that it hasn't been long enough for it to die. I told him it's only been 4-5 years but I just checked and it's actually been 6 years.
He talked to me about how it would be $60 to replace the capacitor. But the fact that it's a solar watch, there is no battery. Duh! He advised me to lift the crown and charge it under the sun or fluorescent light for a few days. Funny thing is that I knew it was a solar watch but didn't even put two and two together about charging it in the sun or light but at the same time wouldn't have known about lifting the crown and charging it that way anyways.
The guy told me that after a few days, if it didn't work, to come back so they could replace the capacitor. I ended up charging it in the sun for an hour or so and then charged it under fluorescent lighting for 2 days. And guess what? It worked!! Yay! Thank you to the guy who recommended that! I can't thank you in person so I decided to leave a review to thank you instead! Most places would have replaced it instead of advising. That is great service right there!
On another note, I ended up finding out why my watch stopped working. I did a little investigation especially now knowing that it's charged via sun/lighting. My workplace was under renovation and they decided to remove the light above me causing my office area to be pretty dim and with no plans on putting a new one in but updating other lights instead. Renovation went on for several months. I had taken pix of the renovations and texted my husband when my watch died and after cross referencing that, that was when I realized my watch stopped working during that time. I'm annoyed but it is what it is. It's up and running now and I'm happy.
Thanks...

I brought in a 1970's Japanese Ricoh watch I bought on Ebay. The watch was 150 bucks shipped from Egypt. It's a cool watch - 70's gold gradient sunburst dial and a fun oval case. The watch however was losing 5 mins a day. Not the worst but a pain in the butt to adjust as I was wearing it daily.
Brought it to the store and they told me the watch would have to be sent to California where their watch repair guy works on more vintage watches. I had to put down a $218 (refundable) deposit and then they would let me know if the watch would need more work and therefore would be a higher cost estimate to repair it. GULP .......$218 was already pushing the top mark for me to shell out. You will have to wait a few weeks for the watch to get to Cali and have their guy look at it.
The store called me back and said the cost was going to be $375.....before tax.....I;m sure out the door, we're talking $400. YEEE-OUUUCHH! This was just $150 watch to begin with.....I immediately told them NO WAY JOSE....I denied the service, and I had to wait 2 more weeks to get the watch shipped back to the MOA store. I picked up the watch on 10-8, and to my surprise, the watch keeps perfect time. I have had it wound for a week straight now and no issues. So, no idea what their guy did, but he must have done something. The watch was not broken. I assume it might have needed some oil and a cleaning
I would give more stars, but the turnaround time was pretty long. If you have a so-so quality watch like mine, this is not your place. You are better off buying another watch - unless you have a family heirloom and money is no object. I am doubtful you will have the same lucky...
