Wahlburgers — Restaurant in Bloomington

I’m currently sitting here at Wahlburgers, and I’ve never been this disappointed with a dining experience especially at a place I used to love visiting whenever I was in town. It’s honestly frustrating enough that I felt compelled to write this review while still here, just to vent how bad this has been.

Let’s start with the service or lack thereof. After being seated, it took over 30 minutes just to receive my food, which is already unacceptable. But it didn’t stop there. Once the food finally arrived, the server completely disappeared. No one checked in to see if everything was okay, no one asked if I needed anything, and not a single offer was made for a drink refill. It’s like I was invisible.

Then comes the final insult: waiting over 20 minutes for the check. I literally had to get up and walk over to the front desk to track someone down just to pay and leave. I wasn’t even trying to be rude I just had no idea how long they expected me to sit there doing nothing.

As for the food itself: terrible. I ordered a grilled cheese, which sounds simple enough to get right, but it came out burnt completely blackened and hard. There’s a difference between grilled and charred beyond recognition. Clearly no one in the kitchen cared enough to remake it or even check it before sending it out.

I used to really enjoy coming here when I visited the area, but after this experience, that’s changed for good. Poor food, nonexistent service, and a total lack of attention to guests. Wahlburgers has completely lost its touch. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal or basic...

The food here is great, the service is good, and the atmosphere was exactly what I wanted. I ordered a bunch of items since I knew I may not ever eat here again (build a location in SLC/Provo already). I ordered the BBQ burger with an extra patty and an over easy egg, Alma’s House Salad with grilled chicken, and Buffalo Style Wings. This was a TON of food, even for a guy like me who is trying to get a ton of protein as an endurance athlete. The BBQ burger was juicy and delicious—for some reason I anticipated it to be dry but it wasn’t—perfect amount of sauce and the bun was a delight too. Alma’s Salad would have been a slightly below average salad, however the grilled chicken was absolutely delicious—it had a great rub/seasoning on it that I thoroughly enjoyed. The Buffalo Wings came through with the heat in the exact way buffalo wings should—I was wiping my nose by wing 2.5. The service was decent—they were all nice and I don’t really have anything super positive or negative to say. They brought me to a seat, they brought me water, took my order, brought me my food and check and that was that. The pictures show the atmosphere well enough—I was in a perfect corner for the introvert that I felt like being this evening which was nice. I could observe or talk as I pleased. PART DEUX:

I happened to be back in Minneapolis on a solo trip a couple weeks ago and was under strict orders to pick up some M&M merch from MOA. Well obviously I had to stop by and try out something different on the 'ol Wahlburgers menu. Maybe I just had a hankering for a burger last time but this weekend I was burgered out and to my delight I saw they had poutine. I know it is not Canadian poutine but I loved it all the same. Service was excellent and server this time was much friendlier.

Finally made it to Wahlburgers!!!! We don't have any close by in Illinois and were visiting Mall of America during trip to Minnesota. Hadn't been thinking about or knew Wahlburgers were there so it was a pleasant surprise. Food was excellent and kids loved the food. If you have been following my journeys (I am going to call the cops on you if you are), you will know that my kids are picky. Service was fast but server was not the friendliest of people in the world. Not unpleasant, just not very engaging. But whatever, she did not detract from the experience. Kids really want to go back again so looks like we have an excuse to take the hour drive to our nearast Wahlburgers. Fortunately they are located in...
