I really love Piada for the carbonara, however, I like to have it plain with chicken only. Usually that isn’t a huge request to be made, but boy was it an issue today. Which I find very cheeks because I work at the mall and would go there quite often during my lunch breaks. When it was my turn in line, I asked for the carbonara. The gentleman asked “if I wanted any protein,” so I answered with “crispy chicken”. Every single time I went to this Piada, they ALWAYS ask if I want the tomatoes and other stuff in there beforehand. I figured that’s what they would do again, plus I didn’t want to confuse them with the other orders they were doing before me, so I quietly waited in line. But then I started to notice that he was mixing everything in the bowl. I politely spoke up about how I was planning to get only chicken in my pasta, but the employees just looked at each other and continued to make it. So when I got to the register, I never felt more uncomfortable in my life. I mentioned again how I unfortunately only wanted to get the chicken in my order. The man at the register basically responded by saying it was my fault for not telling them exactly what I wanted in the beginning, and that “this is what a carbonara is.” Like danggggg, I was just trying to be respectful and wait for the guy that was making it, to ask me what I want in the pasta first. After that interaction, I ended up going back into the line to order another carbonara, but I of course made sure to say chicken only. The gentleman looked at me confused and said, “but didn’t you just order a carbonara?” and tried to give me that other one. So I mentioned how I wanted only chicken in it. After that, him and the other man that was at the register, started yelling back and forth about it. Then one of them threw away the messed up carbonara all aggressively, while saying stuff under his breath. They also started to act somehow towards me because of it, even avoiding me. Ugh it made me want to hide in a shell and cry. Overall, they made me feel like crap over something so small. I never got treated like that before and now I sadly...
Read moreI got my usual order of the farmers market salad and double hot chicken on the side. I love this combination because the salad and the hot chicken separately really balance each other out. I specifically asked for the chicken to be on the side and they tossed it in while I wasn't paying 100% attention.
Not a big deal I just asked them if they could do it again because I really did not like them mixed. They obliged but this time they only gave me a single hot chicken not the double. They put in three slices of strawberries usually you get about seven to eight. They did not cut the avocado at all in any way, usually it gets cut into five pieces this was one half of the avocado as a whole. Lastly with the hot chicken they still put it on top of the salad even though I asked for on the side multiple times. They did every step of the process in the salad creation in a rude way. I was very disappointed today. This is usually one of my treats I really enjoy it, and get it weekly. It's about $15 which is significantly more than the average order for one person. I had to ask twice and honestly I would have preferred they made it again but I don't like confrontation. They were angry they had to remake the order despite it being their fault. They made it improperly because of this. I will never be coming to the Mall of America location again. The Eagan location would never make these mistakes and...
Read moreI read the reviews and it sounded like a place I could try. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience here. The food looks great, specially the salads (I probably should have ordered a salad.) I ordered pasta with hot fried chicken. Here is why I rated it 2-stars.
Pros:
It's decently priced Portions are good Pasta cooked well
Cons:
Hot fried chicken is.... HOT! I eat very spicy food, so I tolerated it. But if you don't, this side dish is NOT for you. The pasta sauce was not very rich.
I found TWO hairs on my food. As I was eating there was this long hair on my pasta which got on my mouth (yuck) I had to pull it out my mouth. I was hungry, so I honestly just moved aside the area in the plate from whence the hair was. Even I was disgusted, I was hungry so kept eating. Lo and behold, I kept looking to see if there was some more (since I had already been traumatized) and yes, I found another small hair! I had enough, I didn't even feel like taking a picture. I closed my plate and tossed it. I didn't want to be that person to cause a scene or anything, so I didn't complain there. I don't want my money back, either.. All I ask (if the owners or managers are reading this) please give your employees some hair nets or something to prevent this from happening in the future. I saw some had hats, but I guess this was not enough.
Unfortunately, I will never...
