I typically don’t take the time to leave reviews when I am dissatisfied with a place but I am extremely disappointed in that I just paid $14 at Bussin Birria. I ordered one beef Birria taco and consume for $4.75 that fit in the palm of my hand. I also ordered a side of chips and a 5 oz Mexican corn dip for $7. The corn dip is runny and serve cold. It tasted like mayo, canned corn or maybe even cream corn with hot sauce and cheese. The corn was so pulverized you could drink the dip. I also ordered a 5 ounce side of mild salsa Verde for $2 which turned out to be Herdez salsa from the store. I watched them pour it out of the container as they made a new one. The small red salsa that came with the taco tasted like Cholula which they charge $2 for as well if you order a 5oz side. I hadn’t eaten all day and was excited to eat here. I am frustrated that I wasted my money here out of all the places I could have eaten at in the Mall of America and would have gotten more for my money and better quality. I really wish I had asked for a refund as soon as I saw that bottle of Herdez. I can pay $1 more for an entire jar...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this restaurant somewhat by accident. My husband and I are vegan and were hungry at the MOA. We went to the fast food spots we knew had vegan choices in Culinary market and all of them were closing (about 5 minutes early) and so we asked the young man at Hot Indian if he was still open. He said yes with a smile. He served us with genuine enthusiasm and helped us make good selections that fit our diet. I about died when I found out the coleslaw was vegan, it was soooooo good. Actually, all of our food was absolutely delicious, which frankly I wouldn't have dinged any restaurant for less than perfect food 2 minutes before closing, but everything was PERFECT. The flavors did not taste fast food at all. We will definitely make this our first choice rather than a default in the future- great food, excellent and fast service. BTW, since all of the other restaurants were closing early, we watched this young man serve several other customers after us, with a smile. By being willing to stay open the last few minutes, that young man brought this business a fair amount of additional business -...
Read moreMy wife and I walk around MoA often and yesterday we decided to try Bussin Birria Tacos after walking past it many times. She got one beef taco and one beef birria taco while I got 2 beef birria tacos. We also split some chips and queso dip.
Neither of us have had birria tacos before so we can’t speak to its authenticity but we really enjoyed them. I saw review with their taco was very flat but ours were not like that at all. Ours were actually quite stuffed and I could have done with just one taco and the chips. My wife who is from TX also said that the beef taco was very good and similar to street tacos she has had down there. The chips were okay not really anything to write home about though. Bonus points for the salsa lisa though.
Overall I would have given them 5 stars because we both enjoyed the food but had to knock it down a star due to the price. It’s something we would get again but not often. Definitely recommend giving this place...
