Spencer's — Local services in Bloomington

I usually like this store... It's tons of fun. Lots of fun stuff to look at and purchase... But last night was distasteful... My boyfriend and I went in looking for Christmas and Birthday presents and thought the shirts would be perfect and hilarious as always. I saw that the biggest size was a large and I was hoping for an extra large... I saw a gentleman that worked there and politely asked if he could help me. He HISSED and said "yeah I guess" I at first I took it as a joke... no big deal...but then when I was checking out the same guy (that works at Spencer) was burping loudly and asking the lady whom was helping us check out if he could go on break then telling his buddy and her how if Spencer looks back on the camera he would love a copy of the video because it's sooo funny! The lady at the counter than looks at him and says "if they look back on camera you'll probably get fired and or arrested." I'm all for playful banter at work and I'm always game for sarcastic humor but I'm pretty sure this guy was not joking... Also I was going to completely let it go and forget about it... but... When I was showing off the shirts I bought I realized the lady forgot to take off the stupid magnet things!! It's already bad enough that all the Spencer stores near by were closed but now I have to go all the way back just to get them removed??? What's the...

I absolutely love spencers, I think it’s where everyone goes to get their first special items. I will say that I like that they don’t ID young people because it can make a lot of people very uncomfortable and then put them in an uncomfortable and bad situation. I do like that this is also a very convenient location with a lot of foot traffic so it’s not so awkward when you go to the back of the store. I always like to stop by here too because they have a lot of really cool comic related things as well as some other fun cartoon characters. I have always gotten my jack Skellington things from here. I will say that any interaction I’ve had with an employee here has been pretty positive. One thing I will state is that I don’t like that they don’t have a rewards program and also they always tell me they can’t put in my email but then other people that work there...

A one star because a worker was rude to my boyfriend for literally no reason. My boyfriend picked up a shirt and was thinking about buying it and he wanted to show me but I wasn’t paying attention so he put it back and FOLDED it because he saw that a worker was folding the shirts and he didn’t want to be rude. Then the worker goes and makes this smart comment directed to him saying how that the store should have a sign that says “look with your eyes and don’t touch things.” She also said it in a very rude non joking way. I was so baffled because she most not know what shopping is because normally people..you know...grab things that they might want to buy. She had no reason to be that rude to him.
