Long Wharf (South) — Local services in Boston

Not a great experience. A Charlie card should cover this ferry, but you have to have proof that your card is active, like a receipt. Luckily the guy took pity on us and didn't make us pay again (we already had a 1-week Charlie card).

You can ride this ferry to see the city from the water, but I have to say that a tour though City Cruises is about a thousand times better if that is what you want to do. The ferry is filthy, has animal dander, no air flow, and only gives you about 5 minutes to catch the views.

I took the ferry from Long Wharf (South) to Charlestown Navy Yard, and it was such a wonderful experience! The short trip offers beautiful views of Boston’s skyline, the harbor, and the historic waterfront buildings. Seeing the city from the water gives you a completely different and refreshing perspective.
