Cotopaxi Larimer Square — Local services in Denver

To be clear, this review doesn't directly reflect this store or its employees. It is about Cotopaxi the company. Cotopaxi's lifetime guarantee is a scam to inflate the price of their products to seem competitive with REI or Patagonia. They talk about repairs & a great "lifetime" warranty, taking care of their customers, and being environmentally friendly. This is absolutely a lie and all marketing. I have a gently used backpack (no hiking or anything rough - just commuting to work). This backpack, a Batac 24L, wore holes through the laptop sleeve and they refused to repair or replace. My laptop could literally fall out of the bag at some point. I went through their warranty process figuring I could at least be able to get it sent in to be repaired. Heck, I’d even pay for a repair! Their warranty process is all online, so they don’t have to rip you off to your face. Instead of a repair or something that would make the bag useable, they sent me a piece of unbranded, clear tape. Like something you’d use to repair a pool float. It took almost 2 months to receive this piece of tape after the warranty claim was closed. I also have a larger 42L travel bag from Cotopaxi that I absolutely love. However, after this experience, they have lost my business and anyone I ever talk to about travel equipment...

First off, the backpack cooler…100% satisfied with this purchase! I have 3 kids, so being able to pack lunch/snacks into this backpack for the beach was so helpful and it had great insulation! We had frozen water bottles that we put in there at 10am that were still 3/4 frozen 10 hours later! We also took it to Disneyland! Multiple people (employees included) were asking us about it because it looked so convenient and we definitely had people checking it out! The ease of carrying it on our back was priceless.

The fanny pack, super handy for wallets, phones, cc’s…a must.

And the Allpa50. Big surprise to me and my new beach/pool bag! This thing was so solid and kept all of the sand out of the goods! Great thick plastic with quality zippers and material. And it has so many pockets! It breaks down into a small bag when you are not using it too!

I went to Denver for a concert and meandered around Larimer Square and needed a backpack so walked into Cotopaxi. Riva and Skye were so friendly, lively, and helpful. They went out of their way to help me find what I was looking for and I ended up purchasing 3 items instead of just 1. Riva and Skye made me realize I needed more than 1 item after I started looking around the store. Riva and Skye really gave me an awesome shopping experience- this was my first time buying Cotopaxi and now I'm a huge fan of the brand. I'll be returning to this store specifically next time I'm in Denver. Riva and Skye should be recognized for the awesome attitude and customer service they give...
