Larimer St — Local services in Denver

I was very excited to visit this area, profoundly disappointed to realize it is now owned by a private equity firm - the ENTIRE BLOCK. As a result most small businesses local to Denver have left. And there is significant push on others to leave for "renovations". I can tell you unequivocally that I'm from Hamilton, Canada and we know that renovations of historical storefront is actually code for "renovictions" and doubling even tripling the rent in favour of chains and tenants that will pay way more money.

1 star for it being closed to vehicles as that is so important for inner city areas to be walkable and liveable.

1 star for the remaining businesses, I wish them fair long leases and quick renovations and safety...

We were excited to visit this street, thinking it would be a hive of activity. We arrived around 11am ish and everywhere looked closed or empty. The street is no more than a few 100 metres long. We pretty much walked through it in less than 5 minutes. We were glad we’d had breakfast before visiting. Perhaps it has more atmosphere in the summer months or at nighttime and we just went at...
