I moved out about 70 days ago but still have not received the balance of my security deposit. Over $535 was deducted from my deposit, and many of the charges are questionable. I was charged over $200 for tub reglazing (due to the tub being yellowed), which was never mentioned during the final walkthrough. The damage to the water dripping damaged side panel of the vanity base was also an issue. The sink is designed so that water naturally drips onto that area when washing, and in my opinion, the material used was cheap, which caused damage to the base cabinet. I did not misuse it in any way, yet I was charged $265 for repairs.
I have sent multiple emails protesting these deductions, but the management office has ignored my messages for over a month.
I am currently preparing to file a small claims case in New Jersey to resolve this issue. If anyone else has experienced unfair security deposit deductions from this apartment, I would appreciate hearing from you. This is an important matter, so even those who have already moved out, please help if you can. And if anyone is able to assist,...
Read moreJust stay away from this place. Unless you’re ok living with roaches and being constantly told that you’re on the weekly treatment list for basically the entirety of your lease, despite keeping your apartment clean. This is my situation. Here are some pros of this place: the doormen are very nice, skyline view is great, you will always find a parking spot if you pay for the garage (you will never find street parking for more than 1 hour). More cons: things are incredibly expensive, the Newport gym that they advertise as part of Newport but which they immediately tell you they are unconnected to sucks and is very expensive (don’t be fooled by that beautiful outdoor look into their cardio room because the machines are super old, many are duct taped, the gym is almost always packed and you will never find an empty machine, trainers will bother you in the middle of a workout asking you if you’re done...
Read moreI honestly like the apartment and the front desk workers are so nice. If you are kind, they will be kind to you. The few things that are minus are 24/7 continuous constructions. They are painting drilling almost everyday since morning. This will be for every apartment around us since they are all rent apartments. Today I opened my window for literally 10 seconds and the strong paint smell came in. It's been 8 hours since then and now my house smells paint. The smell is too strong as if I just painted my room. I'm afraid this can be bad for my body. We had candles on but it won't work. I don’t know why they just let the smells out I will have to be experiencing this for several days. Don’t get the point payment expensive rent honestly
There is also a pool construction outside. Idek why they are building that at that location...bruh... Houses are clean, I've never seen...
