Extremely appalling experience for me!!

I’ve tried to give this salon multiple chances over time, but unfortunately, my experience has been consistently awful, except for a few rare occasions. The hair stylists here seem to be good only at basic blow-drying. But styling and coloring (especially without bleach) have always been a struggle!!

Every time I’ve encountered stylists who were either rude, disinterested, or simply unwilling to do the job properly. On more than one occasion, I’ve had confirmed appointments only to be told upon arrival that the service I booked couldn’t be done — forcing me to settle for something completely different after wasting both my time and trip. I had even submitted a formal complaint to management in the past, but it appears nothing meaningful was done to improve the situation.

My most recent visit was the most horrible experience ever. It was my birthday and I wanted a hair cut+highlights service. I was assigned to a stylist named Yohaney, who was extremely rude, dismissive, and openly lazy. Do not ever choose her! She’s terrible! She was supposed to color and cut my hair, but refused to do the job last minute at 4.30 pm because she wanted to leave earlier at 6 pm (an hour before closing time)— which shouldn’t be an inconvenience to the customer, especially when there is a confirmed appointment. As a result, I received only a partial service. This was particularly upsetting because I had scheduled this visit for my birthday the next day.

To make matters worse, after being reassigned to another stylist (who was at least well-spoken), my hair was completely ruined. Despite showing her a clear photo reference for a feather cut and telling her multiple times to retain the length, my waist-length hair was chopped off all the way to my shoulders with no visible layers. All the hair gone and no layers to be seen either!! And that too, after taking off 7-8 inches. It was infuriating to say the least! Looked like a hair trim with barely any layers at the bottom. My hair now looks awful unless I style it with heat after every wash, which is extremely frustrating for me!

The only saving grace that day was Kerri at the front desk, who handled the situation with professionalism and empathy.

Overall, this has been an extremely distasteful and upsetting experience especially because it was my birthday the next day. My hair is ruined, my time was wasted, and my trust gone.

I would strongly advise against visiting this place unless you know that the stylists have been trained in hairstyling and taught to communicate professionally!

I WOULD NEVER IN MY LIFE GO HERE AGAIN AND WOULD ADVISE...

So I had an appointment with Medaris who was a recommended stylist from the salon so I trusted their expert opinion. She was a very nice women but the service was not good for the money I spent. I explained to her that I want a balayage with most of my hair being blonde (the outer layer). I showed her multiple pictures, references and previous hair color services I've done so she could best match the color I wanted. The color was good but she over-processed the hair in the back of my head too much and it was white. I asked her to fix it and at first she gave me a hard time saying it will get better with time (a lie) but she eventually fixed it. I also noticed that majority of my hair wasn't blonde and she did not give me what I asked for. I have very curly hair so it was important to me that she cut my hair so I could wear it curly. I asked for face framing bags and many layers to not only reduce the weight of my hair but also give more volume (I even showed a picture of the previous exact same cut I got last time). She did not want to cut my hair. I kept telling shorter and shorter yet she did not listen to me. After struggling for so long, I gave up. She cut my hair in the most awkward way where the front isn't bangs but also not layers (it looks so weird). I told her to cut my hair short and she dint listen to me. She rushed through the entire process and was very rude towards the end. I had a flight the next day so I wanted to get the blow out that is included in my haircut and she was hesitant and asked me have you ever done a blowout on your hair because this is gonna take a long time. Then she proceeded to do it but it wasn't done properly. She also did not speak English very well which made it hard to communicate. So my advice is if you have curly or a lot of hair and is looking for a color service, she is HIGHLY not recommended. I regret the money I spent bc now I have to spend the same amount and go somewhere else to get...

I wish I could give this place zero stars. I made an appointment at this salon for 3pm on a Wednesday. I showed up on time only to find out that the hair stylist was not at work. I never received a courtesy phone call to inform me of her no show. Might I add that I am 9 months pregnant so I certainly don’t have the time or energy to waste sitting in the waiting area of this disorganized , unprofessional salon. Eventually, the receptionist found someone else to do my hair after telling me that it would cost more. I agreed and was met by a hair stylist who did not speak English and had the messiest work station I had ever seen. She told me to put my stuff down... on top of her water bottle, daily pill container, and half eaten sandwich. Disgusting. Instead I put my jacket in her chair and went to the Basin to get my hair washed. The chair was very high and stuck in this position. When I sat down I was almost flat out on my back which was VERY uncomfortable and painful as a full blown pregnant woman. When I told her this, she stared at me and shrugged her shoulders. I didn’t let the water touch my head before sitting up and walking out. I waddled my 9 month pregnant self to the other salon at Newport Mall (VC Image) and was more than happy with the service I received there.
