I have lived here for 6 months and I do not recommend it. I’m not a light sleeper but I’m woken up in the middle of the night multiple times a week by people screaming/having mental health breakdowns or skateboarders on the steps across the street at 3:30am. The neighborhood is not safe and there’s no doorman to protect residents against trespassers and stop package theft.
Management is incompetent and sometimes intentionally misleading. They usually write a nice apology while taking no corrective action. Here’s some examples of issues I’ve had with them: Before I signed the lease I was told there was secure bike storage. There’s not and my bike was stripped of all it’s parts and the frame bent out of shape making it unrideable. Management basically said sucks for you and didn’t bother to check security footage for me. There is only one ground floor exit which operates on a sensor. The sensor fails multiple times a week and one day I was unable to get it to open no matter how many times I walked back and forth in front of the sensor. It’s a major fire safety issue. I was told the exterior of the windows are cleaned quarterly. When they weren’t done in my first six months I had to send 7 emails before I was finally told that 2026 is the earliest they will be done and it’s not certain they’ll be done then (that’s no typo – 2026!!!). I moved from NYC. The day after my movers collected everything and a week before I was supposed to move in, my move in date was delayed by two weeks so I had to get an Air BNB. I had to push and push and push to get them to take a very small financial hit on their side, I was left significantly out of pocket. When I moved in, the apartment had not been cleaned and repaired. The fridge smelt disgusting and they did nothing about it. There were dead roaches, clogged pipes, lights not working. I had to ask to have my name added to the front door call box and was not given instructions on how to let people in. A film crew notified management they would be filming outside the building for days, including overnight. They didn't bother to pass the information on to tenants. I was woken up by a bullhorn at 3:30am My neighbors door lock was beeping every 2 minutes through the night last week, keeping me awake after street noise woke me up. No acknowledgement/apology from management.
If you’re sensitive to your environment/energy it is an extremely challenging building and neighborhood. Three weeks after I moved in my neighbor across the hall committed suicide. LAPD came and bashed down her door. No acknowledgement...
Read moreThe apartments look lovely from the pictures but that’s as far as I’ve gotten because, as it seems, this place is terribly disorganized. I had an appointment yesterday to tour a specific apartment at 5:30pm. I arrived to Milano for the tour at around 5:28 only to find a sign that said “if you are interested in touring please go to this other building 2 blocks away.” I called Milano to ensure we were supposed to go before walking 2 blocks in the 90 degree heat since it didn’t mention that on the confirmation email, they said yes, so I walked over there as quickly as I could. When I arrived at Pegasus I was told very rudely by Ashley the leasing lady that the Milano office closed at 5:30… the time of my appointment… and basically insinuated that it’s my fault that I missed the 5 minute grace period, not the fault of their disorganization by not letting me know I had to go to a different building beforehand and scheduling an appointment right at closing time. I rescheduled my appointment for the next day (today) at 4:30 to avoid the same problem and parked and arrived on time to the other building. Not only was it impossible to get in the door because the vents on the sidewalk are so loud they can’t hear what you’re here for, but I was then told (much nicer than yesterday by the male leasing agent) that the floor plan I had specifically requested wasn’t actually available to tour for another week or so even though it says it’s available online. Again, they’re at fault because nobody contacted me to let me know that the floor plan I had specifically requested to see in the notes of my appointment was unavailable. So that’s now 2 days that I’ve taken time from my day, wasted gas, and paid to park because they can’t communicate or coordinate properly. This whole experience has discouraged me from even considering moving here or even trying to tour again. If they’re this rude and it’s this disorganized from the beginning before I even live there, I can’t imagine how it must be to rely on these people for...

You can reach out to me if you truly "want to make it better," but no one has contacted me despite having my information in your system so yeah that’s just another lie. Furthermore, you are charging me $250+ for keeping the keys for two days to an unclean and UNSAFE apartment that was illegal to lease due to painted shut windows and no smoke detector. Even though I couldn't move in and promptly returned my keys, you have held my money for 13 days without responding to my numerous emails. So let’s make this simple, either return all of my money by week’s end or expect to hear from my attorney.
SCAM ALERT
I received my keys to unit 406 on September 10 and planned to move the next day. However, upon entering the unit, I discovered that the advertised 620 square feet was 100 square feet smaller when measured from interior wall to interior wall.
Additionally:
Unit was filthy Had a live roach in the sink A leaking and broken washer/dryer Usealed and painted shut windows A missing smoke detector A dirty dishwasher Incorrectly installed light switches
I asked about the square footage discrepancy, and the manager informed me that they measure the square footage when the unit is empty, without appliances. That is precisely why I measured wall-to-wall; it is still 100 sq ft smaller.
The leasing agent offered to address the issues, but they couldn't do anything about the square footage as the building manager, Leo, informed me that he would not provide any concessions and that I could either take 406 or leave. After that, I immediately returned the key and requested a refund. Five days later, I still haven't received the payment despite the process only taking a few minutes with an ACH transfer.
Milano Lofts exaggerates the square footage of its units, doesn't provide what is advertised or promised, holds your money for an extended period, and Leo doesn't care about the tenants, unlike Ashley, who was the only helpful person throughout...
