Tortillas are fresh made. It's a little hidden gem of a restaurant in downtown LA. I tried the chicken enchiladas and they were amazing, chicken was moist not dry and they were rolled in fresh homemade tortillas and the green sauce tasted fresh made not like a "canned enchilada sauce." It also came with rice beans and chips. The rice was a little dry for my taste, that would be one of my only complaints, I wasn't a fan of their rice. Beans and chips were great. My enchiladas plate was around $18 My daughter got the torta and it was also really good. She could only finish half of it and saved the other half for later. It came with chips and salsa accompaniment and cost around $16.50. She also got Horchata to drink. Horchata was good but we ordered a large to share and it seemed like a small with maybe only being 12 ounces. I got my son the kids meal which consisted of one asada taco with rice and beans chips and a drink for $5.50 which was a great deal. The asada taco had enough meat for 2 tacos actually and the meat was delicious on the freshly made tortillas with cilantro and a bit of salsa. Our meal totaled around $50 for 3 people and at first I thought it was a little expensive for what we ordered but it was was worth it in quality. I would order it again. It...
Read moreProperly good tacos at proper prices. Pinches is a locally owned business and serves up a wide variety of fare. My current favorite is the Pinche Combo Plate with Asada, Al Pastor, and Pescado, though the pollo and the lengua are quite delicious as well.
Everything is made to order and comes out hot, fresh, and delicious, so be prepared to wait a little while for the kitchen to craft your masterpiece. The salsas are very well selected and portioned, really completing the overall flavour of any taco, though the meats are flavourful and juicy on their own or with just onions and cilantro.
Compared to the flagship location at Crescent Heights and Sunset, this one isn't quite as good, but it's still one of the best places in DTLA for a proper taco. I recommend, of course, a pilgrimage to the OG Pinches to anyone who...
Read moreWhat a great discovery to have made walking on 6th Street in downtown LA trying to find a place for lunch. My girlfriend and I saw the side on the sidewalk for this place and went inside. The drawings on the wall were first class with some well-known sports figures, and the colorful tables and awesome sunflower 🌻 and red roses 🌹 displaced through was classy. The gentleman who waited on us was top notice. He welcomed us and asked if we had been there before, and when we said no, our first time, he said welcome and asked if we had any questions about the menu. I ordered 2 hard shell tacos, my favorite Mexican dish. One shredded beef and one chicken with refried beans. WOW. They were delicious, and so was the hard shell taco. My girlfriend loves her soupe and carne asda. Make this a place to go when you are in...
