Please read this entire review if you plan to get coffee or a smoothie here - I TRIED TO WARN YOU!
I have been a frequent patron here for over four years now, as I work just down the street. I continue to TRY and give this place a chance with my business out of the kindness of my heart, but as of today I will NEVER willingly go here for coffee again. If I could give the coffee & service negative stars, I would.
It is actually appalling how clueless these baristas are, and there is a new one every 2-3 weeks, so I'm guessing they need to change their hiring process (just a guess?). Every time I order my "medium warm vanilla latte with oat milk" I am asked, "Would you like it warm?" "What kind of flavoring again?" "What kind of milk was that again?" "And what size?" It is as if they completely ignore you and then run down their checklist as they enter your order into the machine. I then watch as they often spill either the milk or flavoring while making. My same vanilla latte with oat milk is a COMPLETELY different texture, taste, and color every time I order it. Where is the quality control? How can a simple latte be so poorly made from person to person?
As if it can't get any worse, it does! They are usually out of something (warm coffee cups, iced coffee cups, straws, etc.) so plan on this as well. Also plan on there being some residue on the outside of your cup to make your hand sticky. Lastly, if you bring your Goat punch card to get stamped, there is a solid chance the barista will not know how to stamp it, or even where the stamp is. I usually have to direct them.
Let's keep going... if you want to venture out and order one of their signature smoothies, you better know what you signed up for! Right of the top, they will definitely be out of one or more of the flavors, or protein. They will most certainly spill a lot and leave residue all over the cup. It was also be runny with all of the powder/flavor clumped together.
The only silver lining in ordering a smoothie is that the barista will always have to consult The Goat's infamous instructional binder to see how to make it. You may be wondering, how can this be a good thing? Well, it will take them a little longer to make it, BUT they have a 10/10 chance of overpouring the ice/milk which results in you getting whatever size smoothie you ordered PLUS a second small-medium sized smoothie! It will suck, but at least you get two for the price of one!
I have tried so hard to be patient and keep returning, but I am done. It is the worst coffee shop in all...
Read moreIt's one of the most beautiful restaurants I've been to while living in Tennessee! The Goat is very modern, clean, inviting, and has an interesting layout. Inside there is a coffee shop area, a bar and of course the restaurant. When we entered, the staff was welcoming and kind the moment we walked in the door. The tables and seating were comfortable and spacious with different types of seating arrangements available. When addressed by our waitress, she presented herself professionally, was friendly, informative, extremely patient, provided great detail of the menu, and gave wonderful recommendations. We ordered the pepperoni pizza bites, salads, the American burger, the NashVegas burger, the Mac and cheese, and the pesto chicken sandwich. The only complaints from us were that the American burger and the Mac and cheese were both slightly bland in the flavor department, just needing little change. Everything else was delightful. Happy hour took $2.00's off the burger that was only $14.00 to begin with, so it really was well worth it. The Goat also had a great alcohol menu with plenty of wines, beers, and mixed drinks to choose from. The bar itself was pretty well stocked with a nice assortment of choices. Overall, I would strongly recommend this place for a nice time out with family and friends, business meals, a date and / or anything in-between. I will be visiting The Goat in the future and am looking forward to...
Read moreI came back to check the lowest reviews and realized the issues we had are consistent complaints.
There was a total of five customers in the restaurant including me, and my husband. There was a woman standing behind a counter that showed little interest about welcoming us as she nonchalantly motioned that we sit wherever we want.
We sat at the bar hoping we'd get better service there.
We were wrong. The bartender/server seemed like he'd rather be anywhere else. He was more concerned about looking at his phone, and doing busy work than helping us. He didn't even bother to offer drink refills when our glasses were empty. The side of mayonnaise he brought for our hamburger looked like it had been sitting all day. Instead of replacing it when we asked about it, he provided an excuse for why it appeared that way.
The food was a mix of meh and good. The Flatbread itself was good, but we didn't care for the toppings. The hamburger was alright. The tater tots were not good. Side salad was boring.
There's no possible way to provide this level of poor service, combined with mediocre food and remain competitive. I encourage the owners to stop responding that the staff are always striving for great customer service and make the changes that support that claim, because nobody wants a hit or...
