I stayed here for a year 6/30/24-6/06/25. It was called ICL Two Bridges at 78 Catherine st New York NY 10468. The good thing about this shelter is it's a roof over your head and a bathroom where you can take a hot shower. They also helped with laundry expenses by providing laundry soap and money weekly. They also served food, not best but it helped. However, to be honest this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. Staying here sometimes felt unbearable but as I stated before a roof over your head. It was so bad I started writing down, recording and taking pictures of what was occurring. Their bathroom was always dirty with no tissue or soap in the dispensers. The staff was rude hard to work with and had no problems using profanity and calling you out your name. They allowed residents to use drugs and alcohol in the bathrooms and in their rooms. One day whatever they were using was so bad that I didn't wake up when I burnt under my chin while I was sleeping on my back. I have also been assaulted by a male worker who blacked my eye. It was black for over a month and when I reported it to staff. They were more interested in avoiding a lawsuit I wasn't looking to file them actually making sure I was ok. They also told me the male worker wasn't on the clock, so I asked why was he present at a woman's shelter. There was no answer or disciplinary action taken at all in this matter. I was also falsely arrested serval times because I was attacked by residents who they covered for if or when I defended myself. They also opened and sometimes withheld your mail and packages like your in jail. I thought I should share this because it might help someone, if it happens to you. When you make a report to staff they will refer you to another staff member or higher up and no resolution will be made. The staff members would still be mean or bother you. Sometimes even have their coworkers bother you so the one you reported is protected. I attached a residency letter and blacked out my case worker and I names for protection. I did leave with my apartment, had a bed , hot shower, laundry money and help with food while staying there. However it was by far one of the worst experiences I've ever had in life. If I could upload every picture, recording and share every event in detail I would. Hopefully this doesn't discourage you but gives you a heads up on what to expect. Good luck & God bless 🫂

Very hostile environment, staff are absolutely miserable and talk to you like your existence is worthless. Not every homeless person is trying to snub off the government. I can count on 1 hand how many people have spoken to me with the same respect I've given them and that's very sad because this shelter is packed with workers, security, caseworkers, office employees, etc; Office staff gave me such a hard time when I was leaving and I asked to get my belongings from my room. It is very disturbing how they treat human life. I'm certain they go to work for a paycheck and could careless about helping anyone. The tables could easily be reversed, they need to seriously humble themselves. I will be reporting and making...
