Very unsatisfied with my experience. I gave Irina several reference pictures to show exactly the color I wanted. Irina proposed a technique to achieve this look without requiring maintenance, so I was on board. However, the color was not at all what I wanted.

She showed me the first strip of hair, upon which I immediately expressed concern that it wasn't the color I was looking for. The red looked artificial as opposed to the more natural coppery-red color I showed her. She assured me that with the highlights and toner, it would come together, so I trusted her and we proceeded.

When she finished, my hair looked borderline pink when paired with the highlights. I expressed my disappointment with the color and how it was nothing like the pictures. Irina explained that this was the result of the technique she recommended. My stance was that a different technique doesn't explain the stark difference in color and tone from the reference pictures.

She proposed adding more toner to tone down the color and make it less pink-looking, so we gave that a try. It didn't work. Now, my hair looks like it has brown and red stripes, its much darker (and about 3-4 inches shorter) than I wanted, and I left a frustrated and disheartened customer.

With the 20% gratuity, this appointment cost me $589; probably the most expensive hair appointment I've ever had, which only adds to my frustration that I was leaving discontented. Now, I will have to spend another few hundred dollars with a different salon to get the color I asked for. The only reason for the 2 stars is because Irina was nice, the space was clean, and she attempted to fix my hair when I wasn't happy with it. But I will...

Irina is a spectacular hair stylist. I was hesitant at first to try the Magic Sleek Hair Treatment, because I thought that any product that didn't contain Formaldehyde couldn't straighten and defrizz my curly, frizzy hair. Boy was I wrong! My hair not only looks straight and frizz free, but it has never looked healthier.

It has been a few months since my treatment and my hair continues to be straight and frizz free! I can shower and go without worrying about blow drying my hair. This saves me a lot of time in the morning. I am thrilled that I no longer need to expose myself to harsh chemicals. My friends who were around me after the treatment were pleased too, because they didn't have to inhale any harsh chemicals.

She also gave me a beautiful hair cut that really framed my face. Irina is also a fantastic teacher. She even showed me techniques on how to blow dry my hair. She is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to hair and will share helpful tips with you. She is a gem and I am fortunate to have met her. I look forward to my next Magic Sleek...

Magic Sleek hair straightener one of the best decisions ever and Irina does a phenomenal job! I’m actually sitting in her chair again right now, for a touch up! It’s permanent, no fuss, no frizz, shines everyday. My hair was super curly and a blowout would take 45 minutes, now it takes less than 5 minutes for me to blow dry my hair after a shower!

When your regular hair grows out you do need the roots done again, seen here. I’ve been doing straightening for a little over 3 years now, first I did Japanese straightening but to be honest it’s more chemicals, takes longer and so bone straight. Magic Sleek is faster (still about 3 hours but Japanese was 6!) but makes it keratin smooth, shiny and has more volume than just the Japanese straightener.
