My wife and I cannot thank Campbell Jewelers enough for their excellent service! We highly, highly recommend them.
We first reached out to them to create a custom-designed sapphire engagement ring with a thin ring of diamonds around it. Rich paid careful attention to our specifications, and explained how he would make the band as thin as he could make it while still maintaining structural integrity and durability. He emailed us the CAD design, and created the ring after we told him we were satisfied. We had the ring shipped to our house in New Jersey, and it arrived in a secure package containing a box that housed the ring box (a box within a box within a box). The ring looked even more impressive than the CAD preview!
Note, they require an outside appraisal to be performed by a few approved local vendors if you want to verify the quality of the ring. To offer some blinding, I had my brother (who knew absolutely nothing about the ring) bring it to the appraisal company at a date that I did not reveal to Campbell. The appraisal mentioned that the ring was excellently crafted and more than worth the fair price charged by Campbell. This was a relief, considering the prices were way higher for a similar custom-designed item at other Philadelphia shops and many Diamond District shops in NYC.
Upon initial fitting, the ring appeared a bit too top-heavy and somewhat wiggly. We brought the ring back in, and Ed suggested we put in two studs on the inside of the bottom of the ring to reduce the effective size without actually shortening the ring. It worked like a charm, and was free of charge! Ed even polished the ring for free.
We then decided to purchase wedding bands from them. Rich showed us a wide selection of bands to choose from, and we found two reasonably priced ones. We brought them in the day before our wedding to get them polished for the big day (for free again).
Then, if I could not be more impressed with Campbell Jewelers, they came to my aid once again. On my honeymoon in Hawaii, I was horrified and saddened when I lost my wedding band. When my wife found out, she contacted Campbell without my knowledge and ordered a replacement band. They knew exactly what type and size I had originally ordered, so they had no problem shipping a replacement. After our honeymoon, my wife surprised me with a new ring identical to the first, and it fit perfectly!
*Summary: Overall, Ed and Rich are so capable, professional, and wonderful to work with. They make you feel like you are part of their family. Their Chief Canine Officer, Cody, is also an absolute joy to see slumbering behind the counter. If you want a ring, either custom-designed or premade, Campbell Jewelers is the place to go! They can fit your budget, and do not try to pressure you to spend more than you are comfortable. They are a great family–owned business, and we will definitely turn to them for future...

My fiancé and I had been looking at antique rings which were between 100-200 years old. After much research, we were concerned with the integrity and durability of antique rings, knowing that many antique rings have been altered, adjusted or fixed over the years. So we decided to find a jeweler and design a ring ourselves. Living close to Philadelphia, it was natural to pop down to “Jewelers Row.” We researched and met with several jewelers on the street. We had trepidation after having met with the first few jewelers, until we walked into Campbell & Company and met Rich, Ed and Cody. We immediately felt at-ease. Never once did we feel like we were being taken advantage of by any means. We trust Rich and Ed. In fact, as soon as we got to know Rich and Ed (father & son), we wished they were part of our own family. They are both fantastic – super personable, like you are talking to a neighbor you’ve known for decades. They made us feel comfortable throughout the entire process and are clearly experts. We were looking for something extremely particular – we wanted something new in order to look like the antiques we had originally been searching for. I wanted Old European Cut diamonds…. Not just one, but nine of them. Being an atypical request, this took some time to source the diamonds. Rich remained patient with me as we looked at every diamond, asked one-million questions, and revised the sketches and wax model a couple of times. They never pressured us to hurry up and make a decision. Both Rich and Ed catered to our every want throughout the entire process. We are so incredibly thrilled with the results that we can’t wait to go back in a few weeks and have them design wedding bands for us as well.
Both their service and craftsmanship are phenomenal – we will never go to another jeweler again. xoxo’s to Rich, Ed &...
Read moreEd and Rich! I can't say enough about how great this place was for me. so when I decided to go out looking for an engagement ring I did what most people do, I did some internet research on Blue Nile and Ritani to get some pricing info. I then checked out a couple of the local places in jewelers row area. I went to the "I Hate" place and while the customer service was great I didn't feel the price for the quality of diamond was good. For my budget, I felt that the diamonds they were showing me were not up to par. So I did some deeper research and came across Campbell & Co. I read the reviews they had and I liked that there were not many of them, but also noticed that they had no negative reviews. None! We know people are definitely more likely to leave a bad one than a good one. So I went in with some basic ideas of what I wanted and was in for a shock. The shopping experience was great. They were laidback and did not seem pushy at all. I went on to design my perfect ring with them over the next couple of weeks. Never underestimate the chance to design your ring, they will take their time with you and craft the perfect ring. My fiance ended up LOVING the ring I designed and we also ended up getting our wedding bands from them. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for engagement/wedding rings. By the way, don't forget to say hi to their 4 legged buddy that...
