My Wife and I trekked into Philly from South Jersey with ALL the watches, jewelry, loose diamonds, gold, silver, etc... that we had amassed over several years that was just sitting un used and un worn in our home. Robert previously provided us with a wedding set and a mens wedding band (that he later recreated exactly after I injured my ring finger and the existing ring no longer fit) that exceeded our needs and desires perfectly, so it was no surprise that he and his team were able to create an experience and items that we would love and be a perfect fit for our style. It has been quite a while since I have written a review, but I could not pass up the opportunity to share what a wonderful experience I had at Harry Merrill & Son…

After nine years, I finally decided to propose to my girlfriend, and as any guy would, I wanted both the ring and the experience to be as special as possible. I started out at two local jewelers recommended to me, but each left me feeling like I just went to the big box jeweler that begins with the letter ‘K’ in the malls across America. Each tried to sell me a premade ring and said they could “modify” it to “make it custom” if I wanted. No thank you!

I then went to Harry Merrill on the recommendation of a family member and met Rob and Nicole. What I experienced there was something entirely different. Starting with the stone(s) and building the setting, Rob advised on what would make the best ring, took the time to answer my 101 questions, and listened to everything that I wanted. I must add that I am pretty OCD about purchases that are much smaller than this, so you can imagine what I put Rob through! He was patient and kind the entire way and gently guided me in a direction that I did not think I wanted to go in at first, but looking back I am incredibly glad I took his advice. Once everything was set into motion, Nicole stayed in contact every step of the way and was so accommodating when I had questions or had to pop in to make a change, which there were numerous instances of.

Rob and his crew are the best in the business. Everything handled with first class and the upmost professionalism. They were able to accommodate my wife and I with all our wedding jewelry and more. My wife insisted on jewelry from the Kirk Kara collection, which they had in stock and were able to show me different designs. The process of picking out the diamonds was phenomenal. Rob explained the whole diamond process and what to look for while asking what I was looking for. They were never too pushy and allowed me to make the decision which I thought was the best for the engagement ring I was looking for. Once we became engaged my wife and I came back immediately to purchase our custom wedding bands. The experience did not stop there. Rob and staff were able to design custom yellow gold cuff links with my initials on one side and a football on the other. The precision and craftsmanship put into this was outstanding. Then my wife purchased me a custom pinky ring with black onyx and kite diamonds included in it that came out incredible.
