Pileggi on the Square Salon — Local services in Philadelphia

I have been using Jeffrey at the hair salon and he is just great; he does the best blow-outs and I have just had my first color with him and it's really good. I also particularly like Jeff's assistant, Tola, who gives a 5-start hair washing experience (topped off with a very relaxing head massage.) During my last visit, I found out that they have an upstairs, where you can get facials and mani-pedis, so I booked a facial with Brenda. I just got back and I have to say, she is excellent. It was my first ever facial and I was worried that, as someone who suffers from claustrophobia, I would find it all bit too suffocating, but Brenda totally got it. She gently explained what was going to happen, told me that she would be extra careful to make me feel less claustrophobic and generally put the ball in my court in terms of what she would and wouldn't do, according to my tastes. Brenda also really listened and got a lot of background on my skin type etc, she also made notes, in case I return - which I most definitely will. I left my facial feeling very relaxed (the full facial comes with a neck and arm massage, which is fantastic!) and my skin is actually soft and glowing. Can't recommend Brenda and Jeffrey...

I started going to Pileggi On the Square almost 2 years ago. My best friend and her mom introduced me to the salon and their stylist Bill. Bill is one of the best stylist's who has ever cut my hair. From the moment I sat in chair I felt comfortable. I am a person who is very specific about my hair and even bring in a binder of different magazine clippings and Bill will review those looks to figure which style would be best for me. He takes his time and really gets into every detail of the cut. He's also hilarious and keeps me laughing throughout the experience! I truly love the entire staff of Pileggi, everyone is so warm and friendly. They are really interested in their customers and I feel like it's one of the best salons I have seen in a really long time. Everyone has each other's back and it's an amazing to see the leadership and teamwork that goes on at Pileggi. I know when I get my cut I am going to have a great experience from the moment I walk in, to the shampoo (very relaxing), to when my hair's getting cut. I...

Disappointment to say the least. I am reviewing two stars because this salon was unprofessional and untimely. I called the salon over a month ago to inquire about hair appts. for a wedding party. The woman told me someone would reach out to me with details. It took the salon over a month for someone to email me with no information, but a form to fill out. I immediately completed the form and sent it over (within hours), even called to verify. Did not hear back for several days, so I followed up, and they replied that they were working on it and should have a proposal by the end of the week. And when they came back with their proposal, after waiting a month, they told me were unable to accommodate my party. A prospective customer should not have to wait an entire month to figure out if a salon can accommodate a bridal party or not, they should have been upfront with the situation instead of me waiting around for an entire month to only hear back that they could not make it work.
