Moved in early 2022, first tennant in a 2 bedroom.
Pros: Location, you can't be more downtown than this place Views - on every side of the building you can get an interesting view above certain level. Be sure to check new constructions that can potentially block your view in a few years (if your time horizon is that far) Nice amenities and thoughtful service, good quality of appliances. Good room designs.
Cons: While first items are not a cause for concern, the last item in our recent experience was a big bummer and cause of stressful moments. Additional fees increase on significantly above inflation level (up to ~40% increase) Pool is small, hot tub is small. If you are spending that much money on the building, why not make the pool area match the standards of the rest of the building? Infinity pool or at least bigger pool? Hot tub that can accommodate enough residents? For now we have a small hot tub and a small pool.. Expensive... very with additional hidden fees. Be ready to pay additional 150usd for your electricity and additional 200 for shared utilities per month on top of what fees and rent you see in the contract. Homelessness definitely does not make you cheerful, but that is downtown specific, not libertysky specific. Some rooms don't have a good sound isolation - we have a pipe in the wall that wakes us up, whenever someone uses a shower upstairs Washer and drier are a) very small b) not energy efficient - these are the only two appliances that do not match the standards of the complex We were just served a penalty and cleaning fees notice of 565usd after we hosted a birthday party at the clubhouse we rented. While we understand that the rules have to be obeyed, we are deeply dissatisfied in the way such notices are presented. Our notice was accompanied with a baffling 3 day eviction legal warning. It was a big surprise and a very stressful few days, because despite having had a perfect tenant record at all properties that we have ever resided at, it seems that in without a warning in 3 days we could be evicted. And if not, any other violation will result in eviction. It was the first time in our lives we were put in such unpleasant situation. I think a warning letter and fees charged to our account would be completely sufficient (though we would also do not agree with the fees and like to...
Read moreI lived here in a 2br corner unit for 1.5 years.
Pros: location (walkable to everything from grocery store to the Capitol to the opera) stunning views super quiet unit (never heard neighbors once) keyless locks are convenient very kind staff probably about as good as you will get for full service building in SLC until Astra tower opens
Cons: over-run by loud, drunken, pot-vaping trust funded 20-something party animals who will party in common areas to all hours of the night with impunity, and leave the common areas completely trashed on a regular basis. biggest problem with this building IMHO. Hallways and common areas reeked of marijuana on a frequent basis despite building’s no smoking policy. for $3000+ mos rent, this is ridiculous Overpriced for what you get, you will pay NY/DC/LA prices but without the commensurate services or amenities (ie no 24 hour concierge/doorman). I felt they used low quality in-unit construction, ie cabinets, fixtures, carpets all pretty low quality, it’s not that nice inside the units for the cost of the rent. you have to baby everything or it will fall apart. . . look, I almost never cook and my pantry doors in the kitchen started to come off the hinges with almost zero use. nickeled and dimed to no end, including being required to pay for common area utilities on a separate bill, no choice in internet service, ie must pay $100/mos for their preferred provider of sometimes questionable quality, and wait til you get slammed with their mandatory move out fees! crime/poor security: I know one person who had their car stolen from the garage, and another resident was on the roof top one night, she was severely beat up and had her cell phone stolen by some drunken residents and their guests. the building does NOT warn/inform other residents when these dangerous things happen. this is VERY serious to me as a single woman. your security deposit is basically not refundable. they have a bunch of mandatory move out fees they charge out of this such as cleaning, no matter how good of condition you leave your unit. but they don’t tell you this when you move out, so even if you leave it perfect, and spend on your own cleaning service or repairs, they will charge you cleaning,...
Read moreThis is by far the best and most well managed apartment building I have lived in. I moved in about 6 weeks ago and my experience has been great. The thing I have been most impressed by is how meticulously kept the building and grounds are. All of the amenities are always in perfect condition. They really pay attention to the little details. An example is that the pool table in the club room is always set up ready for a game. In addition, the grills are always clean and ready to be used. The major amenities like pool and gym are always spotless as well, but these smaller details are what I have noticed really sets apart Liberty Sky.
I also want to mention how exceptional the staff have been. Efrain, the leasing manager is awesome. He is super nice and actively works to develop a relationship with the residents. In other buildings I have lived at, once you sign your lease the staff kind of disappear. This is not the case at Liberty Sky. Efrain and his team are constantly checking in to make sure I am all set and everything is going smoothly. In my time here I have had two minor maintenance requests and they have both been addressed within an hour of me mentioning them.
In addition to Efrain, the maintenance guys are great. They are always saying hi and on top of everything. Also, the security the building has is top notch. Between security out front, within the building, as well as access codes needed for all doors, elevators, and units, and the garage, it feels very very secure.
I could not recommend Liberty Sky enough and have enjoyed all of the amenities it has to offer. It will be very unfortunate when I eventually relocate and have to leave...
