I’ve gone back and forth on this one, but I was miffed at my last visit.
I was in town for a convention (as I live out of town) and carved the time out to drive over and visit, specifically to nab a “free with purchase” VIP item as I don’t get down often. I picked up several items and was going back and forth at a final one and ultimately decided to put it back while being one of only a few customers there and made my way to the counter.
As I got to the counter I mentioned deciding to put something back within earshot and asked about the February VIP “free with purchase” as k didn’t know what it was. His response: “Oh it’s not that great it looks kinda dumb.” I pulled the VIP card out, then scanned and my total rang up and I threw my card in.
After the total rang up I inquired about the “Free with purchase” and he said “oh you didn’t spend enough, you need to spend $75.00” I inquired about purchasing that aforementioned item I put down which would have put me over $75 had I grabbed it and the reply I got was “no it HAS to be in one transaction.” I walked out fairly upset.
Now, admittedly I could have been more informed about my VIP criterium to receive that gift, but after conversations with several people from the LEGO community I was encouraged by multiple people this encounter is something the company would want to know about.
I later tried another LEGO location in San Antonio and had one of the best customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I would recommend the La Contera location if you’d like to visit a LEGO store in...
Read moreWill never visit this store again. Joined the massive line at 10:50AM for the Lego event. When I joined the line it reached out to a main entrance of the mall. A little after 11 "Potter" walked by asking those in line if they were there for the build, and handed out an activity flyer. He also said there were only 100 kits. At 11:40AM "Potter" walked by again, the line halfway gone at this point, and told every one there was only a few kits left. Now how hard would it have been to give out tickets, or take a head count, and advise anyone after person 100 there WOULD NOT be a kit for them? How am I to know if the people that are in front are all building kits or just one kit for their child? After asking him this question he then informed me it was for only for 7+ (my four year old son of course was very patiently standing in this line the entire time). So even if there were enough kits my son couldn't get one? This is the 7th largest metropolitan city in America and one of only two stores in San Antonio and management thought 100 kits of a very popular cross over event would be enough? Failure of management. "Potter" was so condescending and rude that I was compelled to try to reach out to the store manager. After speaking with "Sarah" I can see why management failed and where "Potter" gets his customer service training from because "Sarah" was even more passive aggressive. We got in my truck drove to a target and bought my...
Read moreHad a very bad experience here. I brought my daughter in today only to have the doorman Mike let four people in before us who clearly were not there first. Then seeing that it was just us he asked me if it was just the two of us and let us in. I was confused by the line situation for this store since there isn’t a single other store that follows this protocol in NorthStar Mall. He was like the gestapo when I got a response. Like how dare you ask questions. I felt harassed. Listen Mike you are the first person people see when they enter the store you might want to smile and be friendly instead of harassing and pushy. You’re not the police you don’t have that kind of authority. Thank...
