BUYER BEWARE!!!

I purchased a pair of Gelato shoes from Dantone Boutique online for $138.95. The shoes arrived in the original shoe box, which was torn and dirty. The shoes were also dirty, eyelets in one shoe were sewn at a diagonal causing it to fit incorrectly (see photos), there was a torn spot on the leather and the 2nd pair of shoe strings that come with these shoes was missing. The knotted shoe strings pop out of the eyelets when stepping down due to the incorrect placement of the eyelets.

Due to these issues I emailed him asking how to return them and get a refund for the shoes and shipping. The owner responded and said he would not refund me my money and to pick another pair. I have a narrow foot and he has no other shoes that I’m familiar with to know if they’d fit. He refuses to reimburse for shipping so it would be expensive to keep ordering and sending back shoes. He also can get a full refund from the shoe maker since these are damaged.

Edit: I mailed these shoes back at the weight the store owner used of 1 lb. I was contacted by USPS that it was incorrect for the weight and had to add an additional $4.60. So now I’m out $138.95 for damaged shoes and $18.05 in shipping. Owner is dishonest with his shoes and shipping costs with the USPS. I will stick to my local small businesses and/or Amazon.

UPDATE: After my credit card company and the USPS opened an investigation it was determined that the owner took and signed for the box from the postman and then removed the shoes, then called the postman back to refuse service. The box was weighed and showed it was significantly less (empty) than when I mailed it. I was given a full refund for the shoes, but I’m out the return shipping. I needed the shoes and they were damaged. I didn’t need to scam anyone for damaged shoes when I can order them elsewhere undamaged. What a great buying experience! I’d been looking all over for Gelato shoes in my size, 42. They’re near impossible to find, but I noticed multiple sizes in stock at this location online. I admit the previous poor review made me skeptical, but I appreciated the owner’s response to it so I called the store directly. The gentleman (owner?) assured me the online inventory was correct, and that as soon as I made the purchase he would ship out same day.
