I never write reviews, but the experience at Elliott Pointe was so poor, that I think it's worth sharing it with others who consider moving into the building.
First, the location is great and close to many fun places.
Second, even though this is not under the building management's control, the place is extremely loud due to the waterfront road construction happening on both sides of the building. If you leave the window open during the day, you'll find a thick layer of dust in the evening on all your furniture. Construction sometimes goes as late as 1am. Consider this if you're planning to move there before the project ends.
Now, moving to what's under the management's control:
I should have noticed the red flags when I signed the the lease. I didn't get the lease documents until the night before I moved in and couldn't get a confirmation that I actually have the place until then.
The lease had a monthly discount. The management forgot about it and, after paying on time every month the discounted amount, they sent a missed payment letter. I had to do the math for them to prove that it wasn't my fault. I discovered that not only they weren't applying the discount, but they were overcharging. They owed me money in the end.
The manager almost never replies to emails or messages sent through the portal. The only way to reach them is by going to the office. However, most of the time they're not there.
One night, I found a leak in the ceiling from the unit above. I called the emergency maintenance number and left a voice mail. No one contacted me until the next morning. Luckily, I was able to contain the leak by swapping buckets overnight. Management was surprised to learn that no one contacted me.
One time, the maintenance crew didn't lock my apartment door after they finished a job. Another time, they left the key in the door, on the outside.
Talking about maintenance, I reported a leaky window in Jan or Feb of 2022. Two days before I moved out, in Jun (5-6 months later), I was told that someone will stop by to fix it. They didn't stop by.
I paid the last month's rent in full, but moved out early in the month. The management changed the locks and prevented me from accessing the apartment for the last 2 weeks of the lease. I still had a few things in the apartment and never got them back.
The lease was 14 months. I had insurance for 12 months through a 3rd party company and then extended it for the last 2 months. Even though I sent proof of extended insurance to the manager, the final statement had $30/month charges for insurance for the last 2 months. Got the money back but I had to...
Read moreThe location is great but this is honestly the most poorly managed place I've ever lived. Management cycles between being overbearing and entirely absent and unreachable.
Within a couple months of moving in, my washing machine overflowed. After I cleaned up all the water, the machine gave me an electric shock. I couldn't reach anyone via the emergency phone. Then, I had to argue with them to get it replaced.
Stuff breaks constantly and management drags their feet about fixing it. The amenities were unusable the majority of the time I lived there. One elevator has been down for over a month. There were frequent break ins, package thefts, frequent fire alarms, and the frequent plumbing issues.
After moving out I was charged for a bunch of things even though the place was cleaner than when I moved in. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting when I moved in. I've tried to reach them about it, but I am unable to....
Read moreHear me out…imagine living in a place where from the back you see the space needle and from the front of the building you see the Ferris wheel 🎡 Here you get that, plus modern flooring and appliances, a balcony, a fireplace, a gym, and a pool. We also got the place for a rent special which only makes my half of the rent $1095! It’s walking distance to Climate Pledge, Pike Place, and SO many restaurants. The property manager that I talk to (Ali) is always there to help me with any problems that come my way. This apartment complex is also very dog friendly :) I would truly recommend living here if you want the big city life while also feeling safe. Perfect location, amazing pricing, and a fun & friendly manager. She makes you feel like a friend and cares about...
