🇰🇷 My friend and I decided to explore the "Korean Street" in Tsim Sha Tsui. While we've tried several restaurants in the area before, we were intrigued by Hanook Korean Restaurant, which happened to be the one we hadn't experienced yet. Curiosity got the best of us, and we couldn't resist giving it a try.

1️⃣ Samgyetang: Ginseng Chicken Soup ($168): This traditional Korean delicacy is a soul-warming treat that combines tender chicken, fragrant ginseng, and a medley of aromatic herbs and spices. The chicken is simmered in a rich and nourishing broth, resulting in a dish that is not only incredibly flavorful but also known for its potential health benefits.

2️⃣ Bulgogi Cheese Bibimbap ($138): This sizzling hot stone bowl is filled to the brim with perfectly marinated bulgogi, fresh vegetables, and a generous dollop of melted cheese. Instead of ordinary white rice, it features a bed of purple rice, adding a subtle nuttiness and unique character to every bite. Mix it all together and experience the explosion of flavors and textures that will leave you craving for more.

3️⃣ Wangmandu/ Steam Large Dumpling ($18): Each dumpling is meticulously crafted, filled with a mouthwatering combination of juicy meat and flavorful spices.

4️⃣ Kimchi Wangmandu/ Steam Large Kimchi Dumpling ($18x2): For all the kimchi lovers out there, these steamed kimchi dumplings are a dream come true. The tangy and spicy flavors of the kimchi meld perfectly with the soft and chewy dumpling wrapper.

💰 Our total bill came to $396, including...

[Ultimate Korean Soul Food]

We walked all the way down to Kimberley Road, checking out different Korean Restaurants and finally decided to give this Korean restaurant a go! They basically provide 3 kinds of food on the menu - Soup, Bibimbap and Dumplings. So if you need a change of taste of not having the Korean BBQ or deep-fried chicken, then this is the place!

Dwaeji Bibimbap with Pork (HK$108) The piping hot Bibimbap served with rice topped with sliced pork, Korean Banchan and Seaweed. Mixed it all well with the spicy gochujang sauce to create a delicious harmony of different flavours and textures in every bite.

Seolleong Tang (HK$128) Served in a sizzling hot stone bowl, the ox bone broth has been simmered for hours, giving the broth a snowy white colour. It was flavourful but not greasy, I could tell there was no msg, because I didn’t feel thirsty afterward. The thin sliced beef brisket and onion was soft and tender, and we ordered a bowl of red rice (HK$15) to soak up all the flavour.

Fried Original Dumplings (HK$68/5pcs) There are over 10 flavours of Korean dumplings for you to choose from. We opted for the fried original dumplings, these little parcels were stuffed with a mixture of meat and veggies, pan-fried to crispy golden brown, it’s good to enjoy them with the Korean dipping...

🇭🇰 Tsim Sha Tsui 尖沙咀|Hanook Korean Restaurant

In the famous Korean 🇰🇷 street in Tsim Sha Tsui, there is a restaurant that always has a long line 🧍 at the storefront and that is Hanook! Serving Korean soups and bibimbap with purple rice, definitely an healthy option! I got to try:

🥣 Mandu Guk Dumpling Soup 🥟 The broth is sweet and savoury at the same time, but not too strong that makes you thirsty! 😊 I would say that is a healthy dish and a great balance of taste! The dumpling 🥟 is also full of stuffing, which I like a lot! 👍 I also added a plate of soba with additional $25 HKD, 🍜 which allows me to taste the broth even better! 😉

🍚 Bulgogi Bibimbap 🥩 I love the purple rice 🍚 it is made with, which has a unique sweet taste, and it is also good for health! The beef tastes soft, and I should have tried the one with cheese 🧀 next time! 😋 I would recommend digging in when it is steamy hot, ♨️ it tastes amazing when it is freshly mixed!

🥟 Wangmandu 🥟 This is the original version of their iconic Korean dumpling, 🥟which is huge in my opinion! 😲 The stuffing tastes great with the dip provided and I wish to have more next time! 😆

🥟 Kimchi Wangmandu 🥟 This is the kimchi 🥬 flavour of the dumpling. Fair warning that even though the kimchi is great, 😌 it is a little spicy, 🥵 which some of...
