Penzion a restaurace Maštal — Restaurant in okres Český Krumlov

We went around 16:30 in the evening for late lunch or early dinner you can say. And ordered traditional meal for 2 with two soft cokes, it costed us 990 czk in total.

It contained 1 pc pig knee, pork neck, 2 pc duck legs and 4pc of chicken wings with some sides and sauces and pickled veggies. The meat were well cooked , very soft and juicy. Well seasoned. However the chicken wings were deep fried and oily. The wings were almost dead meat sticking to the bones.. sides: I liked those potatoes, purple cabbage in the sides but horse radish sauce did not fit to the taste of meat. May be some ranch sauce or garlic sauce or the sour cream if given a bit more would have been better. Ate czech dumplings for the first time!! It tasted very different than I would have imagined.. it was quite heavy I couldn’t eat much of it. May be it would go well with some meaty soups. The portions were generous enough for 3 persons like me!! So i packed half of it back. There were no charges for extra containers. Service: i am not sure if they wait at the table!! Since they had asked us to finish eating by 18:00 and we had 1.5hrs i went to the reception with our orders. It took nearly 30-40 mins for the order to arrive on table. When the restaurant is on time crunch i would expect them to be proactively taking orders and providing food a bit faster. Ambience: i love the alley type setting.. warm and cozy...

We didn’t plan to have dinner at this restaurant. It’s a last minute decision and the restaurant was fully booked. But thankfully the lady offered us a table with warning it may take at least 45 mins for the food to be delivered. We were very impressed with the services we received from the time we entered the restaurant till when we left the restaurant. Andrew who served us was so. hospitable explaining to us the menu patiently and made us feel so welcomed. Omgosh the food and drinks we ordered were amazingly so delicious and such great value too. We all had such a great experience not only because of the food but also how we were looked after so well by Andrew. Thank you Andrew for looking after us tonight and made such a special memory of our first time in Cesky Krumlov. It’s a fair journey from Sydney Australia but I will definitely come back to eat here...

I had ordered deer and they brought chicken. When I asked the waitress whether it was actually deer she insisted that it was. As I was eating I realized that it tasted like chiken so I asked again and she still insisted that it was deer. After that I showed her the chicken wing and she continued to say that it a small deer. As soon as I finished eating she brought the correct order and said that they had made.a mistake. I told her that I finished eating and she asked me whether I wanted to have the correct order and that she would not charge me for the second plate. When we asked for the bill the waitress understood that we wanted beer and when we tried to explain that we only needed the bill and not a beer she reacted and accused us of making fun of her. In the end they charged us for both plates and they used the excuse that it was because we had eaten...
