The food at Kozlovna Apropos was good. If you are in Prague, would recommend to check them out.
Dec 10, 2024 Dinner The Beef Tartar was amazing. It was fresh, seasoned nicely, and went well with the toasted bread. It was pretty cool to be able to grade the raw garlic onto the toasted bread. It gave the bread a mild garlic spice but it went well with the beef tartar spread onto the bread. Would definitely recommend.
The Old Bohemian Beef Beer Goulash Served in Bread Bowl was good. The beef was tender, moist and savoury. There were generous beef portions in the bread bowl.
The Svickov (Beef Meat) was awesome. It pretty much reminds me of a good meat loaf. The beef was tender and savoury. The brown cream sauce was heavenly. The cranberries and dumplings were also good.
The Sweet Potato Fries were good. They were crispy on the outside and sweet on the inside.
The Vanilla Ice Cream with Hot Raspberries was good. The vanilla is more on the creamy and thick side but pairs well with the raspberries.
The Velkopopovický Kozel Cerný (Small Dark Beer) was good. The beer was so smooth.
The shot of Becherovka was amazing. It was smooth and gives you that nice warm burn feeling that goes all the way to your stomach. It’s an herbal liqueur made in Czech that supposedly helps with digestion. Would definitely recommend trying this herbal liqueur.
Dec 11, 2024 Lunch The Roasted Sausages in Dark Beer sauce was a miss. The sausage was too salty. The bread that came with the sausage was fresh.
The Svickov (Beef Meat) was awesome again. The cream sauce is so good. The meat was tender and savoury.
The Homemade Apple Strudel and Vanilla Ice Cream was okay. The Apple strudel was missing something and vanilla ice cream was okay.
The Velkopopovický Kozel 11° (Small Light Beer) was smooth and delicious. Out of the dark and light beer, we liked the light...
Read moreYou can read the full review and see a short movie about restaurant Kozlovna Apropos on the only blog for reviews and ratings refracted through the 5D Sensograph of the 5 human senses placescases. To try authentic Czech cuisine, Kozlovna Apropos is the perfect place. Here you can eat sausages, steaks, steamed buns and drink good beer.
The establishment is close to the center and to the banks of the Vltava River. Its interior is very fun - from the Goat, which is a symbol and is present, both in the napkins and in the version of a sculpture made of wood and a stool, to the chandelier of beer glasses. See them in the movie.
The beer comes very quickly, so you don't stay thirsty, but be careful, because they will often propose to bring you more, and they only bring it in large mugs, so you can easily get drunk.
The food is very tasty, even the steamed buns, which many people unfamiliar with the local cuisine say they don't like, I really liked them.
If you like sausages, order like the ones in the movie or get a duck leg confit. Both are very tasty. Whatever you decide to try, you will not be wrong.
The music is famous world hits and is pleasant without being too loud.
The place offers a great rest from long walks. It's quite busy at lunchtime, so either reserve a table or just wait a while to be seated, maybe with a beer in hand.
I recommend the Kozlovna Apropos restaurant because of the good location, food and...
Read moreWe had a small meal in the afternoon, also ice cream and beer. The food was good and fast served, and the beer was pretty average. I would say that the worst part of this place is the service - we felt all the time like we should eat and go as soon as possible. Someone was trying all the time to grab anything that went empty, even one glass, even if the person didn't finish everything ordered yet. The same applies to everyone around us. This type of behaviour is really leaving a bad overall feel after visiting here. Also, they are on default asking for the tip (and commenting about other nationalities leaving tips or not and how high to other waitress - not very polite, but I don't think the waitress expected us to understand - we did because polish and czech language are similar), which is not weird here to give, but I would like it to be my decision after good service, which was not a case here and not a default question. We are not in the US where it is a regular, obligatory thing. Of course you can click no, but then you got a comment like described, which you are not supposed to understand, but you never know who might know your language :) Prices and foot are quite ok for the location, but I wouldn't...
