Worst service of my life, definitely not welcoming. Starts with a warning in five different languages on the front door to wait someone to take you to a table. Then the blond waitress come and ask are we waiting to go to a table. They also have a big menu exposed for the outside, so when my wife and I got a table we already knew what to order. I asked a Pesto Pasta for my vegetarian wife and a Holland Schnitzel with Potatoes for me. The blond waitress said to me: “we are a pizzeria, we don’t serve Schnitzel”. So I pointed the big menu to her and she said: “Oh, yes. The Schnitzel is over”. So I chose the Beef Stroganoff. She said: “Stroganoff ok. The pasta will be Spaghetti or Fusilli?”. I answered “Fusilli”. Then she brought the meals and the pasta was Carbonara with bacon. I went there to say that I ordered Pesto and she said that I had committed a mistake because the Fusilli was with that sauce and they cannot do anything. So my wife had to take one by one the bacons to eat her meal. To be fair, the food was good and the price worth it, but the terrible service...
Read moreI am not a fan of this pizzeria, in the past few (3-4) years I have been witnessing a constant increase of prices, while the quality of food is somewhat unpredictable. What I have to point out, though, is an incredibly - and unexpectedly - professional approach to customers. Went there with my friends last night, a family of 6 (yes, 4 kids, the oldest being 6), and, well, we were a bit noisy :-) However, the waiters did all in their power to keep the kids busy (scraps of paper, even some colouring pictures, coloured pencils - where did they get those???), although this restaurant is not one where you count on those things. The food looks lovely on the plates and the kids were offered a special (not on the menu) ice-cream treat, consisting of smaller portions of a single flavour, which was highly appreciated. For that all, 5 stars would be appointed. For the history and the above-mentioned changing quality of meals, I am opting for a four-star...
Read moreA very friendly and efficient restaurant. I was shown to actable promptly. Always judge an Italian restaurant by is lasagna al forno. Had some very indifferent ones recently. The one here was excellent with a good amount of garlic to give it a special favour. The house red was excellent. Total bill very reasonable. I wanted to take a photo of three young people with pints of beer as two were girls - unusual to see in NZ. I asked and they were most obliging. Had a delightful chat. Three students from Moravia in Praha to study. They said their pizzas were very good. They were some willing to chat and complemented me in my Czech that on my way out I decided to pay their bill. Hope they got a surprise. The carafe of excellent red wine I had may have helped me to take this generous action. I will be going to this restaurant again as it is close to...
