Since visiting Prage from 2019, we visit twice per year. At the beginning there was a mature lady, WONDERFUL, BEST Chimney Cakes for years, then she is no longer there, "Younger" people serve, quality went down horrendously!

Never lost hope, while trying others always bought at least one to see if they have redeemed themselves, then this year again Wonderful! On 3 Nov 2024 on Hubby's Birthday we visited to get much deserved five pieces for the fam bam. FOR YEARS We have always got HALF WHITE CHOCOLATE AND HALF BLUEBERRY, this time the "younger" woman told us "No, that's not possible".

Despite we told her we have done this for YEARS she didn't give a turdio. Because of her attitude we didn't think she deserved our money, business or marketing. Hubby was so sad he didn't get one on his birthday, she has been the worst customer service we experienced in Prague in...

Walking along historic Karlova Street, I couldn’t resist the warm, cinnamon-scented Trdelník cones adorning the stall at Karlova 190/1—famously billed as the “Best Trdelník of Prague” . Watching the dough spiral around the metal spit, roast over coals, then emerge golden and crisp was practically irresistible.

Freshly baked and coated in cinnamon sugar, the Trdelník’s outside was satisfyingly crunchy while the soft, pillowy dough inside remained warm and lightly sweet—exactly as an ideal version should be . Opting for the filled version with creamy ice cream and juicy strawberries, I found the combo indulgent but still balanced: the cold, creamy center complemented the warm pastry shell beautifully. One reviewer described theirs as “a donut cone, with ice cream, brownies and chocolate sauce with hazelnuts”—a decadent...

From my experience around the city, among three high rated places on Google, this place serves the best Trdelnik in the area compared to other places that are not bad and places that are just overrated because of their strategic location near Charles Bridge (1st option for a lot of tourist that have no idea how a Trdelnik should taste). I like this place because the staff knows how to calibrate between the length of the Trdenlik and quantity of chocolate placed inside of it. As such, it is not heavy and gives you the right calibration of sweetness. Even after having two in a row, you are satisfied and do not feel a heavy load of sugar in your body.

I am even considering taking some trdelnik back to my home county to share the experience with my family.

I definitely recommend this place in the...

Call it a cliché, call it a tourist trap… but honestly, I don’t care. Trdelník is just good. Even after years of living in Prague, I still enjoy grabbing one from time to time — especially on a sunny day in the city center. The one in the photo? A dreamy combo: crispy grilled dough cone filled with creamy vanilla soft serve, topped with fresh strawberries and drizzled with chocolate sauce. It’s sweet, rich, and totally indulgent — the kind of street food that puts a smile on your face. Sure, it’s not traditional Czech cuisine. In fact, it originated in Skalica, Slovakia — but it has found a second home in Prague, and I’m not complaining. It's not about tradition here; it's about the joy of grabbing a sugary treat and enjoying the moment. Pro tip: Eat it fast before the ice cream melts into your hands 😄

We all had one big Trdelnik with ice cream after dinner which was a lot. The ice cream was pretty ordinary vanilla soft ice. On the inside of the chinney there was a chocolate spread (nutella?). The chinney became soggy after a while so it wasn't that pleasant to eat the pastry itself. Next time I would skip the ice cream and go for a pretty classic Trdelnik. Price is crazy for around 7€. We were aware that it was some sort of tourist trap but we had to try anyway.
