A friend recommended this restaurant, and I'm so glad she did! Chef Yves has earned this his Michelin star and beyond. The restaurant is an intimate yet chic setting near Nyhavn. Chef greeted us as we entered and immediately made it feel as though we were being welcomed to his home. His staff are all lovely, incredibly knowledgeable, and polished, yet carried a personable and easy-going demeanor. What a fantastic dinner we had last night! The menu is an elegant journey through Chef's cherished childhood memories with his father in France and Denmark. The flavors were delicious! And the wine pairing was incredible. My favorite was the white Burgundy. What amazed me the most was that often, it was Chef himself bringing and explaining the courses to the table. And it wasn't just our table; Chef did this throughout the evening for all the tables. Making guests feel at ease is a priority here. It's a simple detail that left you feeling special. I was told that the cheese trolley was wonderful here, but that compliment was understated. We all agreed we could have enjoyed a second round of cheeses, not because we were hungry, but because there were so many delicious options! I can not recommend À Terre enough. Congratulations to Chef and his staff, and thank you for such a lovely evening! We will be back for...
Read moreCame here as per recommendations from my hotel for my anniversary dinner. Service was excellent. Menu was limited and restricted. Pigeon was on the menu which I was apprehensive about, but the staff said it was unbelievable. It was anything but memorable. The scope was narrow. For something that is Michelin rated, I would expect something that offered a more widely palatable dining experience. To end the evening, my waiter said he would pass on our accolades for the restaurant to the chef. The chef was seen to visit several tables that evening, but did not come to ours. That itself left a bad taste in my mouth. So basically I feel that this restaurant has potential, but it’s limited scope of menu , and lack of complexity in the meals itself, as well as a lack of attention from the chef will be his limitations to be a bigger success...
Read moreWe came here for the festival event, lucky to have Chef Yves and Chef Makut collaborating in the kitchen. The result was the combination of Danish, French, Anatolian influences in a sublime 6-course dinner.
The food was not only first rate, but the presentation was also surprising. "Onion soup" was really braised sweet onions ensconced in a pan de queijo. "Danish squid" were ribbons of grilled squid in a bed of tasty sauce. The seabass shared the spotlight with tiny bits of smoky mussels and firm white beans - we were soon greedily dipping our bread to finish off the broth. Not to forget the astonishing wines that were paired with the food. Traditional chardonnay from Burgundy, followed by a refreshing one from Alsace!
À Terre is a place we will be...
