We went there because my friend loves a Murphy's, and ya don't get many of them outside Ireland. The pub certainly had an atmosphere, a hazy, smoky atmosphere. It wasn't particularly nice, but I imagine if you liked pubs in the UK before the smoking ban, you'd love this place. It was quite depressing though, although if that's your style yeah, it'll be great.
For me though, I was a thirsty boy, I just wanted some water, I was so parched after being refused water at the Tivoli Food Hall, and the guy first offered me a water bottle, then told me that tap water cost 5 Krone, I couldn't believe it, it was like my heart was ripped out. Plus in the morning my clothes smelled like cigarette smoke, and that reminded me of the water fiasco. Read moreVery quaint and old fashioned small pub in the heart of Copenhagen. No frills, no fuss, good rock music playing but not so loud as to stop people having a conversation. Excellent selection of beers, both bottled and draught, served up by a friendly barman who knew what he was doing. The only thing that visitors from the UK might have an issue with is the fact that smoking is still permitted in bars of this size in Copenhagen and other parts of Denmark.
