We looked around for a while before deciding upon this place. My girlfriend is a vegetarian and so we were limited in options in which to eat. There were not a great selection of options but nonetheless I ordered a varied food platter and she a risotto. My platter wasn't entirely what I was expecting as it whole thing came out cold. Maybe that was my own fault for not understanding the menu but my other half's risotto was very bland and tasteless. We both had a very unpleasant time eating and drinking but we were starving after a long day exploring the city. At the end of our meal, the waitress came and asked us how the meal went. We both replied (as politely as we could) that we didn't really enjoy it and maybe that it wasn't to our tastes. She seemed to take it as a personal attack on her person and developed an attitude as she cleared our plates. We asked for the bill and for the next 20-25 minutes sat at our empty table waiting for the bill. I had to go up to the bar and ask for her to be reminded we still had to pay. In our lengthy wait, she served other tables around us and completely ignored us despite passing by our table multiple times. It got to a point where we considered leaving without paying as we were waiting for so long after a disappointing meal that we couldn't even pay for. The only reason we're not giving it 1-star is because it provided the respite needed for us to continue with our trip. I feel like the place being a bit racist, discriminated me and my friend as Asians. when we were waiting to be served, it’s weird that none of them wanted to serve us, someone asked one disinterested other waiter to serve us. we were given the small table because there were only two of us, and the waiter said that the bigger table is only for the bigger group. the waiter that took our order didn’t smile or anything.

but then two white people walked in and they were given the bigger table. why don’t you treat them the same as you treated us?? there were empty smaller tables as well but how come that the white people got the bigger table? I even saw ONE white woman got the table for 4 for her ALONE.

obviously we ordered earlier than those two girls beside us, but our food comes a lot later than theirs. we ordered the ribeye and fish & chips, they ordered 2 ribeyes. if I was trying to be positive, yes, maybe my fish & chips took longer. ok, fine.

then I saw the waiter with the bald hair going around the white people’s tables and joked around. I don’t expect him to do that to us, but it’s just really clear on how focused they want their market is.

I wouldn’t lie, the smoked salmon salad and the ribeye steak that my friend got were great, but my fish & chips was just meh. it lacked some seasoning honestly.

overall I’m really disappointed with my experience in this restaurant. am not recommending this to fellow Asians. maybe if you’re white you’ll get served...

We were three people sharing lunch dinner on Thursday 12th of June, sitting outside in the lovely afternoon weather. The staff was very friendly, service-oriented and helpful overall. We had salmon and Moules frites ( a very generous serving with good whitewine soup and really nice clams). The meal was all in all, fresh, lovely served and tasted very good. I highly recommend the food and the service as well as a stellar location.

What was beyond any rating or expectations was the overwhelming kindness and helpful supporting attitude as well as a smooth catering to other guests needs when one in our party suffered a medical emergency of extrovert and serious character. We needed help with an ambulance call and more.

When it turned out as a serious incident but no need for emergency transport, the staff and especially the head waiter, a lovely lady (previously a flight purser) went above and beyond to help out. It was kindness beyond what professionalism demands. It shows that this restaurant has the food, the beer, the wine, the service you expect byt above all else the staff have a heart in the right place and compassion that speaks of true mensch caracters. We cannot thank Nyhavn 33 enough with all our heart and will be back for a more quiet setting....
