My recent visit to Restaurant L'Ambassade in Strasbourg was quite a mixed experience. Located in a prime spot, the restaurant's appeal was somewhat overshadowed by the quality of the food and beverages.
On the positive side, the staff at L'Ambassade were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, effortlessly switching between German, English, and French to ensure every guest felt welcome and understood. Their multilingual proficiency was truly impressive and greatly appreciated.
However, the food and drinks left much to be desired. The drinks tasted artificial, lacking the freshness one would expect. The fries were bland and unremarkable, failing to add any excitement to the meal. The burger was just okay, nothing special that would make me want to return for another bite.
The biggest disappointment was the Flammkuchen. It arrived incorrect, and while the staff made an attempt to correct it, the solution was half-hearted at best. They simply added the missing ingredients without baking them, which resulted in a dish that felt incomplete and unsatisfactory.
Despite the prime location and the friendly, multilingual staff, the overall dining experience at Restaurant L'Ambassade was underwhelming. Given the artificial drinks, bland fries, and the poorly corrected Flammkuchen, I would rate this restaurant 2 out of 5 stars. There's definitely room for improvement in both the quality of the food and the...
Read moreI recently visited Restaurant L’Ambassade at 7 Rue du Vieux-Marché-aux-Poissons, 67000 Strasbourg, France. My intention was simply to enjoy a relaxing coffee with my family, including a child. However, I was disappointed to learn that the restaurant enforces a rule requiring every person seated at the table to order a drink. This policy felt quite restrictive, especially when visiting with a young child who may not necessarily want a beverage.
As for the coffee itself, I found it to be the worst I’ve had in a while—bitter and not enjoyable at all. On a positive note, the chocolate drink was quite good, though this did little to make up for the overall experience.
I would suggest that the restaurant reconsider its policies to be more accommodating to families and casual visitors. There are better ways to make money than enforcing unnecessary...
Read moreWe went here to eat. We stopped because we liked the place as it was outside. Inside it had a few tables and was well decorated. The waitress was kind enough to talk to us in English as we didn't speak French. She recommended two dishes to try and we trusted them. The potatoes with bacon were good, maybe the melted cheese on top didn't taste very good but in the end I liked the whole dish. It was a really big portion for one person, I had a hard time finishing, but that's a person to person personal thing. The cordon bleu was also good, but it didn't satisfy us very much, maybe it was too filling and too heavy. more than anything else it didn't look like an original cordon bleu that we eat normally. We were satisfied with the other and next time we would like to try something else on the menu when we...
