RISTORANTE LA VETTA — Restaurant in Strasbourg

Apparently, all the good reviews and reputation this restaurant has was from previous owners, eating there confirmed to me that must be the case.

We didn't have a good experience, food was extremely expensive for the value it was providing, all of our pastas were overcooked and missing flavor. You would expect more from a restaurant with that many good reviews.

Service was normal, but the server made us pay for a bottle of wine that we broke accidentally when it was in a place it shouldn't be. Our check was over 180 euros, and we still had to pay another 32 euros for the bottle. We did it because it was our mistake, but I have never been in a place, regardless of the country and the range of price of the restaurant, when we were forced to pay for a human mistake, even after we had already paid our check. We feel bad, and almost robbed, considering how bad the quality/price ratio was.

If you really like Italian food, this probably is not the place (at least not anymore) and I'm sure there are better places in Strasbourg to have a proper...

We chose this restaurant because of the amazing reviews, but it was a very disappointing experience. We ordered bruschettas which were burnt to a crisp. Naturally, it was impossible to eat them, and the waitress who cleared the plate even mumbled to herself that it was no wonder, as they were reduced to charcoal. However, they didn't apologise, nor do they bring a replacement, and charged for it as usual in the end. The pasta was okay. The worst thing, however, was the very unprofessional behaviour of the staff. They said the restaurant closed at 10pm. Yet, at 9:10pm, and while we were still trying to enjoy our dinner, they were already closing up shop, folding up chairs and tables around us, which made us feel very unwelcome and rushed. I would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone who‘s looking for a good italian dish. The pasta was tasteless and we didn‘t even get what we ordered. Paid 80 EUR for nothing and service wasn‘t even bothered to offer us a discount. They told us that their restaurant exists since 20 years but surprisingly they only have about 280 reviews on Google.
