this establishment gets 5/5 to get started. these are the few points i have observed while trying to enjoy the magical embiance:
waiters very respectful, polite, attentive and knowledgable. service flow is up to standards. -equipment and dinnerware were exceptionally maintained, clean and traditional. -customer care and service anticipation!! nice.
-food as expected from the first touch point with the restaurant was dliciously presented, very appetising and before all extremely delectable.
-wine selection is rich with an array of white, red, famous qvery and some sparkiling and desseet variants with an extended choice in each section.
Now with the overall experience, As we reached the entrance, my lady and i were welcomed by name and our table was set and ready for our arrival. donner were was set clean and lustred.
The place is of an otherwordly fine attention to detail, -only for very picky customers- from the polished food min-elevator door handles and wine bucket stands to the fresh looking ''gutter!" and the clean and nestly painted outside of the balcony frame, as if this place had just opened.
waiters placed all dinnerware with style and poured the wine with elegance.
Before staring our experince the wine list was thoroughly presented by our dedicated waiter after which the wine was served on the table chilled where it was opened and poured in a decanter in a way to aerate it carefully. after some time the decanter was changed to a natrower one which was placed over ice in a stainless bucket on top of a stand covered by a linen.
Menu items were presented in a way that certainly helped us choose a perfect match of entree and main to go with our preferences.
Food presentation and placement is up with the high names of the industry thanks to a highly wualified Chef.
View of the old town, the square and the river is very appreciated on the first and the second floor balconies adding value to the whole experince on summer nights especially.
for the price , many reviews state that this is a $$$$ rated restaurant, however that was not my experience and comparing the tab i recieved with euro or dollar prices leads to the fact that our two cold dishes, a main course, a side dish, additional georgian bread and a bottle of exquisite wine and the view would equal a "modique" 55 $ US. which is certainly not $$$$ as is rated one of the ritz paris' restaurants!
few things we wish MEAMA had...
-few vegan or vegetarian choices for the main courses. -more variety of the regular drinks list.
many thanks to Zura Datiashvili for taking good care of everyone at dinner. Mr Zura was seen giving sightseeing tips and recommendations on one...
Read moreIt is great place, beautiful view over the city! I liked interior of restaurant ( I will suggest to seat on the balcony). Food was great, we tried few dishes and most of them was good!
We ordered: Sinor with garlic cream and kaimaghi Pumpkin pkhali eggplant with walnuts Beef salad Duck with cottage cheese and Mulberry sauce Dolma with matsoni sauce Oyster mushrooms with cheese
So I liked most of them, only beef salad was not really what I expected and mushrooms was just okay. Duck, Dolma and pumpkin was just perfect and I will highly recommend to try it! Service was great as well! Zura, guy who served our table was super nice and helpful! In general was great evening with friends.
P.s. I think, just prices are bit higher then usual in this kind of places. ( Wine prices extremely high)...
Read moreThe service and the serving were extraordinary good. The dishes were great, unique and tasty. We were 6 people so we tried a lot of dishes. The beef salad was rich with lots of herbs yet still had a substantial amount of beef. The yogurt soup (don’t remember it’s name) was delicious, also the chicken with garlic sauce. The wine opening was professional and they showed knowledge and had quite of a patience for the 6 of us :) We moved inside from the balcony (great view!) for deserts and tea. We had mixed reactions to the deserts which were quite experimental, but overall we enjoyed them. We finished with a fine Georgian brandy and went out...
