I visited Oliv Cafe this morning and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience - particularly due to the lack of thought given to accessibility and customer comfort. I have a back injury that requires proper back support when sitting, and it quickly became clear that this cafe is not designed with such needs in mind.
The outdoor seating area features chairs and tables that are far too low, meaning customers have to crouch awkwardly to eat. I wasn’t the only one - everyone looked visibly uncomfortable hunching over their breakfasts. There was only one table available that would have suited my needs, but was informed that it was reserved for parties of four only without any alternative provided.
Feeling disappointed and a little brushed off, i considered sitting inside. However, it was 34°C outside, and the interior offered little relief - not only was it stuffy, but the music was also far too loud to enjoy a relaxed meal.
If you want to run a truly great cafe, you need to consider the real comfort and accessibility needs of all your customers - not just aim to be hip or ‘’instagrammable.” Aesthetic should never come at the cost of basic inclusivity and hospitality. Sadly, Oliv Cafe missed the mark for me today and i won’t...
Read moreI rarely leave bad reviews and I am sorry for the owner, but I think it wouldn't be fair to other businesses to not leave this one.
Café Oliv is incredibly overrated. I believe - of course I can't know for sure - that this place doesn't even have a kitchen. My friend and I ordered two omelettes on sourdough with extra avocado on the side. For something ~20€ we got two extra thin slices of bread, with an oven baked tasteless piece of firm frittata on top and few leaves of bagged salad on the side. The extra avocado - 4€ - was half an avocado simply sliced.
Trust me, I wouldn't complain about the price as it's the same everywhere in Europe. But I do know that for the same price you can get much better: a real slice of fresher bread, some warm eggs and something more than slicing an avocado. I really believe you can do better at home, guys.
Last but not least, for all this we waited quite too long and I would have loved to have my table cleaned before I sat.
I must close with the positive side: the iced latte and service were...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I was at café Oliv almost 30min before closing time. We went in and we were met by a very ignorant young women, that did not even say hi or welcome but straight locking at her watch and telling us that they are closing in 30 min. Fair enough. We will hurry up and respect that they close in 30min. She then says that we can't order any coffe and they only had 3-4 different kinds of cakes left. We weree confused by the fact that they refused to serve coffee for customers in their opning hours bc they were cleaning the machines for closing reasons. We did not discuss with the employer but simply accepted the circumstances, and ordered what's left of the cakes for today. My girlfriend choice a crumble cake, and asked kindly for cremefreche, and the employer immediately says "no, sorry not today, but we have tomorrow" in a really arrogant way. I then ordered a cheesecake, bc I've been reading so many good feedbacks. Both cakes where dry, boring and tasteless. And the service was unfortunately...
