Worst venue I have EVER played in ! Avoid. Utter & complete lack of professional attitude & service. I arranged to play there on St. Patrick's Day, March 17th 2016, and was promised all the sound equipment will be available from the previous band, all set up & ready to go once I start playing. That promise and agreement was broken straight away as it was the band's personal sound equipment and they packed it all up and took it home with them. I was then told a guy will come with the equipment, but that didn't happen either, so they brought the cheapest ever sound mixer and mic from the backroom and even that they weren't able to start properly for 15 minutes. Once turned on, they just went on serving drinks and left me with it, without any setup or ANY goodwill to adjust the sound on their end. As a result, half of the pub couldn't hear me at all, and the other half heard the mic feedback noise more than they could hear me. The mixer was useless as anything, all I could adjust on my end was the guitar volume and even that was on the guitar itself. Vocals were as low as possible, and the master must have been behind the bar, not even on the mixer itself, plus whichever way you turn the mic, the noise kept coming back, and as the venue has no stage whatsoever, but a corner next to the bar, the ability to move unless turning Your back to the audience is next to impossible. A few people from the audience came to me to complain and so did I, but the pub manager took no notice whatsoever. Both he and the rest of the staff were more interested in earning an additional euro from an additional sold pint than to fix the sound and show the most minimum basic respect towards me as an artist and the audience who were listening. Utterly pathetic, cheap, plastic. And as for the overall service, I had to wait half an hour for a glass of water, so that tells plenty on its own about the quality of service, while it’s easy to notice the fact that there’s almost a dozen of them working behind the bar ! This place should be banned from advertising as a live music venue as they are clearly unwilling to provide the most basic minimum of sound equipment and time to arrange it properly, let alone spending a few extra euros to actually hire a sound technician for live events like this. You could have said from the beginning that you are unwilling, unable, uninterested to provide sound equipment and setup, you could have told me to bring my own equipment, all of this could have been avoided, but you never did. I have had chosen this place as I thought on first glance that it might be the best small pub venue for Irish music in Budapest but boy oh boy was I wrong, the place has the looks only, but the professional attitude, quality of service, goodwill & kindness to help out, the soul of a genuine Irish pub that shows proper respect towards guesting musicians and audience is everywhere but there. Had I known I would have been in touch with any other venue as it couldn't possibly be any worse. Several days later I played in another venue after St. Patrick's parade, the organizer was 1000 times more kind & helpful, kept all agreement promises, all the sound equipment was there from the beginning, working properly, and a sound technician came by a few times to help out, providing assistance and of course the sound mixer had the master and everything on, so I could adjust it during the show on my own. It was a different story altogether, success and a pleasure for both me and the audience. Maybe you should go there and learn how it's done, running a live music venue properly. In the meantime - you should be ashamed of yourselves, your venue is a disgrace for live Irish music. No apology came to me as an artist nor to the audience who were listening, furthermore there were cheeky attitudes & remarks from the staff. My advice to any self-respecting artist, fan, pub guest would be to look elsewhere - this place is the least worthy of your time and attention. I would never go there for a drink, let alone do another live show...
Read moreVisited here recently as it was next door to our accommodation so thought it would be where we would frequent on our trip to Budapest but that was not the case. It wasn't busy. Ordered 2 baileys coffees (they were disgusting, over priced, cold, 50% of the glass was cream) bar man put change on counter when I went to pick it up I soaked my sleeve in spilled beer on bar.
After, as the food on next table looked good. We ordered soft drinks and a portion of chips from a woman at the bar, I asked twice for them to be done without salt. She didn't respond the 1st time so I double checked she replied "we don't put salt on chips" chips came out swimming in salt. So we decided to leave and left them behind us.
Just as we were getting ready to leave a woman sitting on a high chair fell backwards, her head made a loud bang on the tiled floor by bar. I was surprised she got up as quick as she did. She knocked a pint of liquid over in the process. 2 staff came out to mop up the spillage and broken glass. None of the staff checked to see that she was ok just cleaned up and ignored her.
Unfortunately not the Irish quality of hospitality you hope to...
Read moreCalled in for some food and to watch the Manchester Derby, very busy early on but we managed to get a good table and ordered food from a very limited menu. I ordered the Sausages and Mash which had good reviews, my Wife ordered the Burger. Food didn't take long to arrive but that was the only positive thing I can say, sausages were a bit bland, and when cut into exposed a strip of sinew, a sign of poor quality, mash was fine, could've done with some more gravy. My Wife's Burger was over done to say the least, dry, edible but very forgettable, pretty poor for sixteen quid! Sadly Ireland were playing Rugby so that got shown, football on screens from the 1980's vision wise so we left. (Service from all the staff though...
